I called the office of the Ranking Republican on the Foreign Affairs Committee, Ileana Ros-Leitenin, and asked the telephone answerer if the Ms Ros-Leitenin had made any statement about the attack on Secretary Rice. She told me that there would be no statement, because “she had no power, there would be no point.” I said that she could defend the dignity of the Secretary of State of the United States, and I was very disappointed by her silence, as I had always admired her willingness to speak out, etc etc.

The aide told me that these are the same five women who have been doing the same things for the past three months. {I didn’t mention that they have been doing it since 2002.) Three were arrested and released, She was not privy to what happens between arrest and release.

She told me that they cannot be kept from the hearing rooms. Entry is by first-come-first-served, so they can sit anywhere they want. It is against the Constitution to keep them out! Apparentlly no matter how many times they are “arrested.” Only the committee chairman has any say over the matter.

EXACTLY!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Don't believe assaulting the Secretary of State is protected by the Fisrt Ammendment. Nor is disrupting house committee hearings.

Just who are they kidding? If they wanted someone out; they would be out.

I am so sick of the lies these people tell the public.

You did well by calling.

It’s silly that Congress would think that they don’t have the power to stop the Pinkos from systematically disrupting the workings of American representative government. The aide has probably been told what to say, but Rep. Ros-Leitenin and the other members of both parties should be condemning the attack in no uncertain terms.

If Congress or committees thereof simply banned the Pinkos from attending, the Pinkos would sue, but the outcome is far from certain. If Congress or committees said that order and decorum required Congress to ban the Pinkos, especially those who had previously disrupted, courts would be hard pressed to undo such a ban. Indeed, there is an excellent chance that the ban would withstand Constitutional challenge.

After earlier Pinko misconduct, Senator Barbara Milkulski (Dem-MD) spoke out against what had happened. IIRC, it was after Pinkos’ disgraceful harassment of Defense Secretary Robert Gates and General Peter Pace (in his last testimony as sitting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs). Beyond that, Pelosi and Hillary Clinton are both getting dogged by the Pinkos.

If the Dems get tired enough, they can just pass a rule that whoever disrupts a Congressional hearing or session is banned from entry into the U.S. Capitol, maybe for life or maybe for 5 years. There is no way that a court would overturn that.

Beyond that, a committee chair could simply have people removed from the hearing room if he thinks that the person(s) are planning to disrupt the hearing. For a court to second guess the chairman would be as unlikely as Congress second guessing a Judge’s expulsion of potential disruptors from his court.
