A short time ago, I received a SPAM type email from Senator Larry Craig with his legislative update. The interesting part of it was that the subject line said "Listening to Idahoans".
Since the immigration debate and later the 'wide stance' bathroom controversy, it was clear the Senator Craig no longer listens to Idahoans. With that, I crafted an email that was rather terse and requested he resign as well as his personal issues are giving the Dems a beating stick in which to trash the Repubs. Below, is his response.

Mr. Scott Wilhelmi
XXXX X XXXXXXXXXXXX
Meridian, Idaho 83646
Dear Scott:
You were frank in expressing your views, and I appreciated it. In fact, I reviewed every letter and contact from Idahoans -- both letters like yours urging me to resign and letters of support from throughout the State.
As you know, I have decided to serve out my term and complete the initiatives for Idaho that are currently underway in the U.S. Senate. When I returned to Washington, D.C. in September, it became clear that I could still work effectively for the State; many of my Senate colleagues have even urged me to remain in office. Resigning would have cost Idaho the seniority and committee assignments that serve key State priorities.
Let me again apologize to you for the mistake I made in pleading guilty to a crime I did not commit. I deeply regret the cloud that has been cast over Idaho because of my actions. I will do all I can to lift that cloud through continued service to our great State.
In the months ahead, I will be voting and working on your behalf in the U.S. Senate. It may not be possible to regain your trust, but I hope you will still continue to give me your input, so that I can do my best to represent you on the issues facing our State and Nation.
Sincerely,
LARRY E. CRAIG United States Senator

Nope...Wyoming!
Don't be surprised if that changes as well!
"Above" me.
Oh, nevermind, that's what you want to do.
When I worked for a Congressman many years ago as his issues secretary, he would sometimes dictate a statement, hand write it or give me generalized instructions as to what should be said and then approve my draft with any changes he wanted inserted. If the process still works that way, then LEC/ben would mean that Craig wrote or approved the letter, and it was typed by ben.
As to what might be lost if he resigned now, I would like more information. What are his seniority valuable assignments [almost wrote positions, but thought better of it]? What are his committees and subcommittees, and what specific bills has he introduced or is sheparding through the legislative process? It is a reasonably good excuse, but inquiring minds want to know if it is just a smoke screen.
Maybe he takes his pants entirely off before sittting, hence the ONLY way of allowing a wide stance! What a prepousterous lie: a true disgustingly perverted mind.
BWAHAAAAAAA!!!
Yea, ain't it the truth.
"You are not the lone ranger."
Nope, hardly.
...just one more alone ranger.
Ah wish ah knew how to quit yew.
yer buddy,
William T. Drill, esq.
...”give me your input....”
Sounds like a proposition.
Good to see somebody else notices this. You wouldn't believe how much flak I've taken for pointing it out.
