Senate Republicans dodged a bullet Wednesday, as popular former Democratic Sen. Bob Kerrey has decided not to run for the seat of retiring Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.)
In a statement, Kerrey said he’ll remain as president of The New School in New York.
“I have decided I will not leave The New School to become a candidate for the United States Senate in Nebraska,” Kerrey said. “The reason is simple enough: For my family and me, now is not the time for me to re-enter politics as a candidate.”
Don’t give up on us Virginian’s yet. It looks bleak, but things could turn around. Anyway, if the Iraq war falls out OK maybe Webb will go back to being a republican like Warner was.
Sununu will win re-election.
