Did I miss something? Is it customary to send the National Guard out to fight fires?? I thought we had the California Conservation Corps for that.

I’d like to know if the State Defense Force of California has been activated to help in any manner. As the state volunteer militia the guv doesn’t need federal approval to mobilize the SDF. The SDF is to provide rapid response teams to Military Assistance to Civil Authorities in the preparation, prevention, deterrence, preemption, defense, and mitigation of natural and man-made threats to California.
