Perchance to DREAM
National Review ^ | October 24, 2007 | Mark Krikorian

Posted on 10/24/2007 7:50:37 AM PDT by 3AngelaD

In anticipation of today's cloture vote, DREAM Act supporters have been telling people that the measure would give amnesty to only 60,000 illegal aliens a year; ...

But even their own think tank disagrees — the Migration Policy Institute has estimated that 360,000 illegals would get amnesty right away, with another 715,000 benefiting in the future, for a total of over 1 million amnestied.

Using a different data source, we looked at the same question and estimated that the total number of potential beneficiaries of the amnesty is 2.1 million. What's more, there are another 1.4 million parents and young siblings of the under-18 amnesty recipients who do not themselves qualify for the amnesty, but whom the government is likely to let stay once their family members get legalized. See our analysis here. All this assumes no fraud, which is likely to be rampant, both with people lying about how old they were when they came here and with people lying about their own age, to meet the bill's cutoff of 30.

Both of my senators, Shelby & Sessions, have been very good on this issue of immigration.

I called them anyway, just to express my support and appreciation.

What? A criminal illegal alien border and immigration law violator lie about their age?

That would never happen because they have family values, hard working, vote republican, uh, wait, not supposed to vote, ummm…

Here is the way to bypass the “constituent” qualification they insulate themselves from the voters with by publishing only webmail forms on their websites......simply replace “pelosi” or “durbin” with the last name of any critter in the senate or house email addresses shown in the examples below:

pelosi@mail.house.gov

durbin@mail.senate.gov

use this format for any critter, and they WILL get your message

Thank you for those email addys.

I was looking for fax numbers and found a 2 years old list. didn’t work well, the emails should be better.

I know I call alot and when the Capitol switchboard is busy, you know that they are getting calls. Anytime they tell you that Senator’s number is busy ask for their home town numbers. I call Harry Ried like that in NV and get thru.

They voted NO on cloture? it is stopped for now?
