Dear Friend,
In 14 days, we have a chance to give Governor Tim Kaine more allies and move Virginia forward with sensible, results-oriented government. On November 6th, we have the opportunity to build on the momentum that Democrats in Virginia and across the country achieved in last year's elections and elect more Democrats to the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates.
I have been throughout Virginia campaigning this summer and fall to make this happen, and I am asking you to join me in this fight, as you did for my campaign last year.
Please take a moment to sign up to volunteer for Get Out The Vote efforts today!

Democratic leadership in Virginia has drawn the attention of the entire nation. It's a leadership style that measures results, focuses on the future, and rejects partisanship.
From the leadership of Governor Tim Kaine and Governor Mark Warner, the Commonwealth was named the best managed state in America in 2004, and the best state in which to conduct business for the past two years. Also, Education Week has cited Virginia as one of the best states in which to raise and educate a child.
We've invested billions of dollars in new infrastructure for Virginia's colleges, universities and award-winning parks. The Kaine-Warner years have seen a renewed commitment to cleaning up the Chesapeake Bay. We've replaced the budget deficits of the Jim Gilmore era with balanced budgets.
Governor Tim Kaine needs a General Assembly that is under Democratic leadership to move Virginia forward.
The Virginia Democratic Party is having its first campaign literature drop this weekend. Join our efforts to win the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates.
In these closing weeks of the campaign, consider this: The eyes of the nation will be on Virginia this election day.
As the only state with significant off-year elections, a win in Virginia will send a powerful message around the nation about next year and the outcome of the 2008 elections. It will encourage good candidates around the nation to take the kind of risks I took in 2006. It will affect everything from voter registration to fundraising.
Remember, the first returns for 2008 will come in from Virginia in 2007.
I want to thank you for all you do in your communities to strengthen our nation. And I want to urge you in these closing days of the 2007 campaign to go out and demonstrate the same determination and hard work that has paved the way for Democratic victories here in Virginia.
Sincerely,
Jim Webb
Jim Webb is a douche-bag. I am a former Marine who is embarassed by this imbecile.
Jim Webb, man who dare not say the M word.
“move Virginia forward with sensible, results-oriented government”
I think it would be sensible to ban the word “sensible” from any political discussion.
He’s hopeless. The buffoon took major heat for his signing of that Senate document attempting to invoke government sanctioned censorship reminiscent of Stalinist Russia.
I’m glad he signed. That’s what we get when democrats are in power: Attempts to subvert free speech and his signature is front and center.
I didn’t find it angry. I didn’t agree with a word of it but I didn’t think it different than any other campaigner. The tone was mundane if you ask me.
Jigajog,
Can we just say “He served well” and ignore the rest of his career?

I just sent Webb a fax proving that Durbin’s DREAM Act is a precipitate to HUMAN TRAFFICKING and VISA FRAUD.
I also reminded him that the 1987 Amerasian Homecoming Act (good because it rescued Amerasian kids from Vietnam back to America), was very similar in some ways to the DREAM Act, but that it basically reduced these poor kids to commodities who were bought and sold on the open market because of their ability to generate an American immigrant visa for the “parents” (highest bidder).
Once in America, these Amerasian kids had served their purpose and were kicked out into the streets and the arms of the Vietnamese gangs (even in Vietnam they were called “bui doi” = “children of the dust”).
That’s pretty much what the DREAM Act offers as one of its many unintended consequences.
Perhaps he’ll understand that factual analogy.
Hey, if you were a Marine, you know exactly what an OCD, backstabbing officer Jimmy Webb was. All you have to do is look at him. I had the displeasure to serve a couple of the Jim Webb types - it was not fun. After serving with these SOBs it becomes obvious why they had fragging incidents in Vietnam.
