Embattled Democrat Pete Stark has just publicly apologized to "the president and his family."
He took the floor after his fellow Democrats successfully killed a motion to censure him in the wake of his remarks last Thursday asserting that American troops were fighting in Iraq to have their "heads blown off for the president's amusement."
"I want to apologize to my colleagues, many of whom I have offended," Stark began. He then apologized to "the president and his family" and "the troops."
"I hope that with this apology, I return to being as insignificant as I should be," he concluded though a voice cracking with emotion.

Yes, though it could be The Pelosi had a gun to his head.
DU is truly disgusting, the thought that BOR compares Free Republic in the same light as DU is an abomination.
That cartoon is FUNNY!
Thanks.
See post #31.
Yes, I agree, but it was one of those Freudian slips, he told the truth intending to lie with the word "significant".
LMAO there’s a major meltdown over @ DU. They’re using the F word a lot. LMAO
Agreed ...
I’m just in awe seeing a RAT (even coerced) admit that they erred. Usually, just like the liberal mantra, it someone else’s fault.
OH!! BWAAHAHAHAHAA!!
Emailing the herbivore now...
Oh man—agaianst my better judgment, I clicked on your Dummies Underground link.
Now I have to wash out my eyeballs. These folks are fruity as hell. And foul mouthed to boot.
And most of the Dems in the House REFUSED to approve a motion to censure Stark. Incredible!
This is what I found from his website:
WASHINGTON, D.C. Representative Pete Stark (D-CA), Chairman of the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, issued the following statement in response to a request by Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH). Boehner and 153 of his Republican colleagues today voted to uphold President Bushs veto of Congressional legislation that would have provided health care to 10 million children.
I have nothing but respect for our brave men and women in uniform and wish them the very best, said Stark. But I respect neither the Commander-in-Chief who keeps them in harms way nor the chickenhawks in Congress who vote to deny children health care.
Our uninsured children in America are fighting cancer, cystic fibrosis and other diseases that take their lives, continued Stark. Leader Boehners vote against overriding the Presidents veto dishonors not only these children and their parents, but also the thousands of courageous men and women who President Bush and Republicans in Congress have kept in harms way. These brave men and women are in Iraq to protect our children as should Republicans in Congress. Leader Boehner and his Republican colleagues should apologize for their votes and join us to provide health care to 10 million children.

Not much of an apology!
Pelosi? From gun free ‘Frisco? I’m thinking Hillary!...
This is funny - We’re pinging PJ for a change!
He is insignificant - and the other insignificant one is James Moran. I should put Sheila Jackass Lee and maxine Waters in that group also.
BOR is using us a fig leaf to allow him to call DU and their ilk on the carpet without being accused of being biased.
The DU thread is flagged and blocked by our system as porn. Is this for real?
Must be a wild one...
That is amazing. I worked for the Navy for 5 years (shipyard) as a civilian contractor. The language they used was harsh. After leaving, it took me a couple of months to get out of talking like that.
I bet the language at the Demonstrably Undereducated web site would make the shipyard workers blush.
One wonders if they ran a poll regarding what his district thought about his a$$hat remarks and showed him the results. I’m also thinking the RNC in that district is splicing together campaign commercials as we speak.

With this news and the news of Ron Paul polling at 3%..the lib’s gotta be pissed.
