(October 23) Last night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed to invoke cloture on S. 2205, Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbins (D-Ill.) new stand-alone DREAM Act amnesty bill. The cloture vote, for which 60 YES votes are necessary to prevent a filibuster on the measure, is set for Wednesday, October 24. Reid is attempting to bring this nightmarish amnesty bill to the floor under Senate Rule XIV without it ever having been debated in committee. Click here for more background on the DREAM Act.
It is imperative that NumbersUSA members call their senators today to ask them to vote NO on cloture for S. 2205.
Call your senators today to ask them to oppose the DREAM Act: 202-224-3121.

I just called and emailed mine again. Now I am going to start on other states. Always say you live in their state when you call, pick a town and have a zip code handy if they ask. That way your call gets counted.

Amnesty has much more dim support than Republican support. There are only a handful of votes of conviction from the dims. Most dim votes against the last amnesty were votes of opportunity, not conviction. Amnesty has a small core of rino support also. Some rinos voted against amnesty in votes of opportunity. Other Republicans who initially supported amnesty had a change of heart and seem to be solidly against amnesty now. They listened to our loud protests.

Dems and Open Borders RINOs continue to push through amnesty. They will not rest until they get this shamnesty passed.

Down the road they will do this to fire arms, our second amendment. You can safely bet on that too.I'm looking down that same road as well. So many things coming at this country and all are a detriment to it.

I just called both Alexander and Corker to ask that they support filibuster and defeat cloture. I told both office flunkies ahat I would be watching the cloture vote with GREAT interest - much GREATER interest than a futile vote to oppose this abomination.

What message do we get when the “world’s greatest deliberative body” tries to circumvent deliberation?

argh. When does this end? If republican leadership cannot deal with this, once and for all, we need new leadership in congress.
