Fred's view on China's long march doesn't make Duncan Hunter a more viable candidate to win the primary.

You'll eventually come to grips with that sooner or later.

So in other words you don't really care what your candidate's stance is as long as he's electable? Them's some real fine principles ya got there.

Someone is going to have to become more realistic about the threats posed by China and Russia. The Cold War is back, except this time the old Communist powers have adopted elements of a market economy, the sort of economic structure Nazi Germany had. Duncan Hunter is the only one among the GOP candidates who recognizes the threat. (The Democrat candidates never saw a UN initiative they didn't like; their motto should be America Last.) The rest (except Paul, who is blindsided in foreign policy by his libertarian ideology) strain at the gnat of Muslim terrorists while missing the Chinese and Russian elephants. Minus Russia, China, and their satellites, Ahmadinejad, Assad, and bin Laden would be no threat to the U.S. and our allies.

If not Hunter, then someone must step up to the plate, especially in our own hemisphere, where anti-American, Marxist regimes have made more progress than at the peak of the Cold War.
