Is this really a problem for her this far out? It seems to me that they do this with dem candidates (algore and kerry come to mind), then miracle of miracles, they close the gap!
I’d be willing to bet when we’re coming up on the election, the DBM will once again ignore the internals of the polls, and the headlines will be blasting only the good news for her in an obvious effort to shape opinion.
That settles it then - the dims will just have to steal it.
Here's why:
"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
"We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.
"It's time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, for the few, and to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity."
"We can't just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people."
"We have to build a political consensus and that requires people to give up a little bit of their own turf in order to create this common ground."
"I certainly think the free market has failed."
"I think it's time to send a clear message to what has become the most profitable sector [oil] in the entire economy, that they are being watched."
"What I want to do is take those profits and apply them to alternative energy."
Karl Marx or Frederick Engels said none of these things; Hillary Clinton said them all.
See here for more gems from Hillary:

There was an op-ed in my paper yesterday saying exatly this, and canonizing Huckabee as this person. I like Fred, and honestly don't know anything about Huckabee.
And, I think that everyone on this thread is right...if there's a conservative 3rd party spoiler that's egotistical enough to run (Bloomberg? McCain?) then I'd pick Hillary! in a landslide.....unless there's a liberal fourth-party spoiler (AlGore?) in the mix. Then all bets are off.
In a straight-up two party election, Hillary! doesn't have much of a chance against any of the 1st tier Republicans, IMHO.
I think that the GOP leadership's biggest challenge this coming year is not to beat the Dems, but to keep their people reined in and prevent them from beating themselves.
I just sent that to my DIL, and I’m sure that it will go out in her pm emails.
Great stuff:

On the other hand, all House seats are up every two years, so Ron Paul would lose his seat if he did not run for reelection to the House in '08.
In fact, IIRC, he did lose his House seat when he ran for president as a Libertarian (not sure of the year), then staged a political comeback to regain a seat.
