You are reading these words right now because 600 million years ago, an aquatic animal called a Hydra developed light-receptive genesthe origin of animal vision.
It wasn't exactly 20-20 vision back then though.
Hydras, a genus of freshwater animals that are kin to corals and jellyfish, measure only a few millimeters in diameter and have been around for hundreds of millions of years.
Scientists at the University of California, Santa Barbara studied the genes associated with vision (called opsins) in these tiny creatures and found opsin proteins all over their bodies.

Really - now it makes sense
Thanks for that tidbit - I truly feel a bit more enlighten today (I am not being sarcastic)

There is a lot more to the story. Young Frankenstein
Every time Frau Blücher's name is mentioned, horses are
heard whinnying. Many people believe the point of the joke to
be that Blücher is German for "glue." This belief has been
identified as an urban legend, though in a 2000 interview
Brooks suggested that he did base the joke on this erroneous
translation, which he had heard from someone.
Gravity is the observed effect of the curving of spacetime around an object of mass.

If you want to understand why crystals form, I suggest you enroll in a crystallography class at your local college. Crystalline formation is governed by well-understood chemical and physical properties, and I probably wouldn’t do it justice.
Mass
Was gravity created (something from nothing), did it "evolve over time" from nothingness (something from nothing), or did it always exist (it just is)?
Oh - the dilemma!
Gravity is a function of the existence of mass in spactime and has existed since the very beginning of the universe.
Nice cop out - I see you choose to ignore the foundational philosophic question that we all must grapple with...please point me to the college that teaches of the origin of chemical and physical properties.
Crystalline formation is governed by well-understood chemical and physical properties, and I probably wouldnt do it justice.
Alter Kaker - THINK! Chemical and physical properties can't do anything, they are devoid of the facilities to do anything - read your definition of gravity "Gravity is the observed effect" - just like chemical and physical properties - they just are...observations. Did the crystals magically pop into existence one day with all their chemical and physical properties - did crystal matter "evolve over time" or do you choose they "just are" explanation?
Absolutely true!
And to continue to use it as an analogy in this thread, people are convicted every day of the week for crimes they didn't commit.
If you get my drift. ;)
Crystals don't form because of their philosophy, they form because of chemical and physical laws.
Did the crystals magically pop into existence one day with all their chemical and physical properties
No, they crystalized when uniform substances (usually a fluid) solidified.
did crystal matter "evolve over time"
I don't understand the question.
What created mass - (answer: the pilgrims)
Do you consider mass a priori? If so, why? Mass is a property of a three dimensional world - did the world start out as a one or two dimensional world and evolve into three - did it always exist with these properties or did it evolve or was it created?
This is similar to claiming the history of the United States in the history of mankind....you are starting in the middle
Who claimed crystals formed because of their philosophy - you still don't get it - crystals can't DO anything including have a philosophy or follow a pattern
Is this like a joke thread? The article is ridiculous on the face of it.
Sure, the facts are the facts, but the conclusions? Come on!
“They’re trying to find themselves an audience. Their deductions need applause.” — Genesis: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
I’m claiming no such things. Only that mass is observably related to gravity.
In much the same way I could assert that US jurisprudence and the Constitution are intertwined.
E = mc2.
Do you consider mass a priori?
No.
Mass is a property of a three dimensional world
Not true.
I'm not familiar with the research, but I would be quite surprised if all the priori of the study are shared by anti-evolutionists.
One might as well try to convince a skeptic that space aliens are visiting the earth by detailing some minute aspects of their spaceship design derived from a meticulous scientific study of crop circles. First you need to convince them that the crop circles are actually from space aliens and not from pranksters.
Some wacky scientist had a nightmare and this became the basis for this paper........it’s all poppycock!
An equation created mass - so Einstein created mass - it is amazing that we existed before the creation of mass. You claim mass is not a proir - ok - what created mass...how did the property come into existence? You also claim mass is not a property of a three dimensional world - are you claiming there are one or two dimensional worlds with mass? Where? Show me. Buggs Bunny lives in a two dimensional world - but I think that is imaginary.
