The most moving tribute to our fallen Vietnam Servicemen I've ever seen or heard. George Jones provides the background music to this emotional slideshow.

George brought me to tears with this song when I saw him live a couple of years ago - did it at the end of the show too, when he sang “God Bless the USA” while a stagehand waved a large US flag. God bless the Possum!

With or without music, the wall at the Vietnam Memorial is very poignant.

Thank you I'll do that. I just stopped in during lunch and saw the thread. Heard the tribute and cried like a baby, remembering when we went there in March to protect it from the leftist.
Standing there, laying your hand on it and seeing all their names on the wall up close.....

Yes it does. I've bookmarked this thread to come back to it this afternoon.

We visited the Vietnam Vet Memorial at Angel Fire, NM, and while initially, it was very moving, after reading the inscriptions of quotes from the founder (Dr. Westphal) and watching the movie, I was left angered and depressed. All that was missing was a picture of Jane Fonda on one of the flags.
They show that Showtime film, letters from home, that talks about Mai Lai, Kent State, and John Lennon. Westphal must have been one bitter old man, who blamed the gov’t for his kid’s death and got the gov’t to pay for a memorial, mostly to his own son and his own personal suffering.
