It is innaccurate to say that “qualifications” can only mean “constitutional qualifications.”

Would you say a 35-year-old American-born retarded person is qualified to be President? Well, he’s qualified constitutionally to hold the office—to be elected—but I doubt anyone would consider him intellectually qualified to be president.

For that matter, I doubt you would consider qualified a native-born American, older than 35, of an above-average intellectual capacity, who is also convinced he is the resurrection of the historical Napoleon—not figuratively, mind you, but literally.

Qualified to be President?

The more I learn about Hunter the more I like him.

He seems right on every issue. And not just recently converted to the right side, but a solid life long conservative since he began in politics long ago.

But 911 changed everything. Now Rootie thinks the 2nd Amendment has some validity. He may decide that 911 changed his mind on the other issues as well. No harm in nominating him to find out /Sarcasm.

Technically, constitutionally, yes, I would. Hillary is “qualified” in that sense. Now morally....ACKK!!!!!! I view her as constitutionally qualified, but not fit to be a dogcatcher.

:D

No, I don’t mean only constitutionally, but I thought that’s what was being addressed.

Well, how does Hillary stack-up on these issues? Given the choice between Hillary and Guiliani, please make a recommendation as to which one I might vote for.

Hillary stacks up exactly the same. But on the issue of support on the Republican side of the aisle in Congress Rudy would have it in almost an unqualified manner. Hillary would have to fight them to get her socialist agenda made law.

So, between Hillary and Rudy the question is "do you want a socialist President who faces opposition in Congress or do you want a socialist President who has bipartisan support?

"False Choice (Logical Fallacy)"

Wrong!! Logical certitude!! To do otherwise would be to flush the nation down the drain.

No. The Constitution is clear on what disqualifies a candidate. Trying to pretend it means something else only shows ignorance of the Constitution.

The Constitution doesn't dictate the conscience of the electorate. Citizens may impose any criterion they wish to.

If you don't like Guiliani then don't vote for him. Don't say it is because of his religious or political 'qualifications.'

Who the hell put you in charge of the speech of others?

Here, I'll save you some time n00bie, NOBODY did.

High gound moralism will ensure the presidency of a raging hateful LIB. My thanks.

Actually living one's values sometimes requires sacrifice.

This isn't really one of those times though.

Those are my reasons. Why shouldn't I say it?

FIVE such disqualifying issues are: ...

I think the pro-life folks are falling down on their job of convincing enough of the population to oppose abortion. Otherwise Bush would gladly have helped promote a constitutional amendment against it. Without massive popular opinion against it though, no president can do much about it.

No, the choice is not between Giuliani and Clinton. It’s between Giuliani and the other Republican candidates.

Your set up is a False Choice.
