Since I am not from the area, and therefore know nothing about street names etc, I would appreciate any info you can give me on El Cajon. Mr G works with a business there and we are not able to contact our friend.

El Cajon is pretty biy..if you have a street or business name I can figure out where your friend is in relation to any evacuations. El Cajon is not under any evacuation order at this time.

As another person mentioned, El Cajon is a large area. It is nominally the area south of I-8, east of the 94 intersection with I-8 and southward to Willow Glen Dr. The east end of El Cajon is roughly Greenfield Dr on I-8. Cuyamaca St is mostly in Santee...north of I-8. Only a short section of Cuyamaca St extends into western El Cajon near the eastern edge of La Mesa.
