I’ll reserve my compassion for innocents suffering real misfortune not waste it on “the beautiful people” suffering an inconvenience

First of all, only a minority of Malibu residents are what you refer to as "the beautiful people." And secondly, having one's house burn down is far more than an "inconvenience."

Somehow I doubt you'd be writing "burn baby burn" if one or more of your loved ones lived in the area or were a local firefighter.

Are you for real? Are you saying the people whose church is burning to the ground deserve it? Plus what did Mel Gibson do to you? You say the most insane statements.

I find your attitude to be disgusting.

Malibu is an amazing place and, as someone who as been fortunate enough to call the area home for a number of years, is hardly the liberal bastion many assume it to be.

To take glee in others misfortune and devastation is a terrible trait.

Stop being a jerk for once. You have no concept of all the good people who live in Malibu. My family is just over the hill from these fires. You are a waste of bandwidth!

People and animals die in these "inconveniences". Besides there is the possibility that these fires are deliberately started. Just because some people have more than others does not give anyone the right to destroy their homes and their lives and their well-being. Some of us have friends and family in these areas, and even if we don't we do have human compassion.

I lived in Malibu from 1986-2006. There are many conservatives who live there, but don’t get their names in the paper, or get on television because they aren’t celebrities. They raise their kids, worship at the local church, and live normal lives. I can tell you my old church, Our Lady of Malibu, was packed almost every day. You know nothing about Malibu other than what you see of celebrities, and their moonbat politics. By the way, Our Lady of Malibu is in the line of the fire right now. Happy??
