First of all, only a minority of Malibu residents are what you refer to as "the beautiful people." And secondly, having one's house burn down is far more than an "inconvenience."

Somehow I doubt you'd be writing "burn baby burn" if one or more of your loved ones lived in the area or were a local firefighter.

Remember the firefighters who died in the last Malibu firestorm, one who survived a great while and finally succumbed.

Ironically, yesterday I passed by the Grossman Burn Center, not my usual route.
