UPDATE: The city of Malibu is advising residents in Puerco Canyon to begin evacuating due to a wildfire driven by powerful winds. This area is north of Pacific Coast Highway and about 1 mile west of Pepperdine University. Residents along the beach on Malibu Road may soon be evacuated. Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Kanan-Dume Road and Topanga Canyon. Residents are advised to head to the west. Evacuation centers are being set up in the Zuma Beach area.
A wildfire driven by powerful winds in the Malibu Hills this morning threatened a university, destroyed at least one home and forced the evacuation of hundreds more, authorities said.

Now it’s up to 18 firefighters injured.
If they're looking for another "Katrina" crime and chaos story...They won't find it here.

fyi
California power authorities issued a transmission emergency because downed power lines had left San Diego with only 60 percent of its usual supply of electricity.
authorities hope they have enough burn clinic beds in the area, so far so good
Looks like strange lunar eclipse....
Well, around here, the vast majority of the fires in the last decade are started by a certain class of criminals. Of course, the media always “forget” to mention where these arsonists are from.
And when they do find or fabricate complainers, we need to call them exactly what they are.....Bolsheviks.
Why did you put that orange blob right over my house?
Extremely dry, windy and warm here in the Black Hills. Nearly November and we haven’t had a hard frost yet, although we did have six snowflakes last week. But, nothing like southern California. Prayers to all out there.
LOL! GMTA:)
Wow lol about spray painting the horses, smart idea though.
I know horse owners are like us dog people. Such heartbreak to have to leave a care dependant animal behind.
At least Dog/cat people can kennel and pack them with if they have a van/truck/rv.
Not exactly easy to pack a horse up in an emerg.
Of course they “forget” to state where the vast majority of criminals are coming from.
It’s against their own anti-American agenda to state the real news, instead of propaganda.
With out doing a search I will guess Alaska and Hawaii but then Texas comes to mind as used to be part of Mexico.
Okay, here's a question:
Why are there so many cars in front of these burned houses and parked in garages and parked in drive ways? We had both of our cars packed and ready to drive away. We were planning on taking both cars! Do people have more than two cars just sitting around?
The moon over my little area is simply beautiful right now! It’s as if we’re in the eye of the hurricane here and the sky above is just bright and clear.
I imagine it looks totally different in other areas tonight.
Guess some of those folks have a lot of money tied up in the 'carbon-credit' business...like Al Gore coincidentally.
Ohoh... what ya know....there’s Arrowbear.
Do you know someone there?
I wonder if Thousand Pines is okay...

Total propaganda; you’re so right!
My son was just taking digital images of the moon. Really weird looking.
