UPDATE: The city of Malibu is advising residents in Puerco Canyon to begin evacuating due to a wildfire driven by powerful winds. This area is north of Pacific Coast Highway and about 1 mile west of Pepperdine University. Residents along the beach on Malibu Road may soon be evacuated. Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Kanan-Dume Road and Topanga Canyon. Residents are advised to head to the west. Evacuation centers are being set up in the Zuma Beach area.
A wildfire driven by powerful winds in the Malibu Hills this morning threatened a university, destroyed at least one home and forced the evacuation of hundreds more, authorities said.

Or call your buddy Harry Reid and have me censored.
just got home from the fire station in Pomona. Real smoky in San Bernardino on drive home, Little Mtn burning as usual in San Bernardino.
Smoke and wind not so bad here in Redlands, the big smoke plume from Lake Arrowhead is just a but north of me here so breathing is pretty good.
The most fires and traffic on the radios I’ve seen in Los Angeles in the 27 years I’ve been here.
Portola Parkway at Alton Parkway will be open to local resident only. There is an information hotline for residents of Lake Forest. It is 714-628-7085. The Red Cross is still set up at the evacuation site at El Toro High School, 25255 Toledo Way.

I think that is a reasonable thought. Sorry you got attacked about that : (
We can only hope some of them dumbarse reporters will embrace this thought. They seem to think if we click our heels together someone will miracle the fires out.
Where do you live.
Scanner: Wind from Little Mtn fire spotting fires across on west side of I-215 in San Bernardino
Thinking that CNN would lie about an emergency, should that lie hurt a Republican is not paranoid.
It’s smart.

No problem, thanks for the support. (I never understand why people are allowed to remain on FR and incite censorship). I lived a lot in CA (seven different counties over the years, most of my business is still there) and have been in those hills and was actually out on the Bay for the big Oakland fire. Without favorable weather these fires cannot not be stopped. If a home owner takes precautions they can increase survival chances. But I agree with Rush today. These fires are a lot worse than hurricanes, of which I now have intimate knowledge. Still, tile roofs and cleared brush can yield a successful outcome in a marginal situation. But in a firestorm nature gets to call the shots.
If all you have to offer on any of these Southern California wildfire threads are negative comments and personal accusatory attacks, it would be best for you to refrain from posting on them.
Thanks.
Thanks, fatima, for your help and PRAYER for all of us...

What did I say negative. The other poster cursed at me.
You are okay in my book. I think some owe you an apology.
Go with your friend or stay and post info to help.
This is not the time nor the place to pile on anyone in this thread.
Thanks.
