Liberals want the same thing here in that a woman using a gun to kill a rapist is worse to them than the rapist.

They have a lot in common.
Both serve themselves with ultimate power, unchecked by the cowed or grateful multitude. In the R.O.P., Mohammed managed to gin up a system whereby those who would sieze power and use it without remorse would thrive, and all others are just grist for the mill.
Stalin had something like that, and Putin is pushing for a revival.
An insight from a Russian who worked for one of the service companies on a drilling location I was on: That Russian (30-40 y.o.) likes Stalin. He said they miss the 'strong boss' who "saved Russia from the Nazis". All other sins have been forgiven by the version of history they were taught in school.
Whether we recognize it or not, this is Cold War II, and the Islamofascists are just another pawn, albeit a nasty and well-motivated one.

The law and order conservatives around here tell me time and time again that it doesn’t matter what the law is. You have to obey it and accept the consequences of breaking the law regardless of what it is, and if you don’t like it, you go out and change the law.
I wonder if their same logic can be applied here.
