Spring Lake — Harnett County authorities said they located the remains of a missing 11-month-old girl in the attic of her house Saturday. She had apparently been dead for weeks.

Authorities had issued a statewide Amber Alert on Friday after Harmony Jude Creech's grandmother reported her missing at 11:30 a.m.

Baby apparently dead for weeks, while the Amber alert only went out last Friday....something stinks (no sick pun intended).

According to another link, her father had been deployed to Iraq. The grandmother went to pick the father up when he returned home, and apparently that is when they found the baby missing.

The search team failed miserably here.

Standard search protocol is for the residence involved to be searched from top to bottom by three different teams at three different times of day.

If no foul play was involved, the person in charge of this search should be relieved of any further duties.

I understand. But how can the girl go missing for weeks, and then an Amber Alert is issued only last Friday?

"Police said Harmony's mother, Johni Michelle Heuser, told investigators she found the girl dead in her crib several weeks ago. Police said Heuser concealed her daughter's death out of fear and did not tell anybody."

This woman is headed for the funny farm!

The dad is a soldier with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg who returned from deployment in Iraq on Friday morning. And there were three other children, all under age 5.

I don’t understand that either. Lots of info missing in the reports I’ve seen.

The one I read that said Grandmother had picked up Father also said Mother claimed to have put the baby to bed the night before. I don’t know if Grandmother was living in the home or not...or when she’d last seen the baby.

If the mother was the only one who’d seen the baby in the past few weeks, I’d guess she’ll be the prime suspect.

She killed the baby weeks before picking up the father, on purpose or accidentally and hid her. Then she timed the report with picking up her son to cover.
She need to be hung with one of those evil noose’s we’ve been hearing about if she is in fact the guilt party here.
MY heart gets in a knot every time I read one of these reports. May the good Lord have mercy on the child.

It’s too early to say that the mother killed her. There is such a thing as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. I don’t know what the truth is (though I think there are far more cases of maternal murderers than we realize).

“Harmony was last seen in her crib in the family’s Spring Lake home, at 1680 Ray Road, around 11 p.m. Thursday. Investigators said Harmony’s mother, Johni Michelle Heuser, claimed to be the last one to see the child after putting her to bed Thursday night.”

What’s wrong with this picture??

There’s an awful lot about this that doesn’t add up...

“Police said Heuser’s three other children, all under age 5, were in the home overnight Thursday, but they were not harmed. Creech is not the father of those children, authorities said.”

...and the mother has THREE more under the age of 5?? Good Lord.

...and the mother has THREE more under the age of 5???,

Who in their right mind can deny it? Morals have been tossed right out the window and "do whatever makes you happy" is the culture for many today.

Most of my compassion centers on any child victims and the destruction of our society.

Harmony's father, Ronald Earl Creech II, returned from a deployment in Iraq Friday hoping to see his daughter. Harmony was born while he was overseas, police said. Creech is a soldier with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg.

How sad, profoundly sad.

Even on the very long shot that the little one died of SIDS - no one will ever believe that mother.

The first response in a case like this is to call or scream for help - even if you think the baby is dead...you don't do this
