There isn’t a problem out there that isn’t made worse by illegal immigration: murders, deaths cause by drunken driving, overcrowded schools having to provide special teachers for the children of illegal immigrants, welfare, hospitals used as free clinics, ad nauseum.
He does not have an open borders policy. That’s a myth. You have to read his comments very carefully on that matter. He wants to close the border, but he understands that welfare entitlements for aliens are what is drawing and keeping illegal aliens here. He would definitely do better with border security than any of the current candidates except for Hunter and Tancredo, and they would be much weaker on the fiscal aspects of the problem.
