sounds like when the truckload of cigarettes was hijacked in “Goodfellas” and the truck driver went into the diner and hollered ‘some ni**er just hijacked my truck’.
Well with the price of gas these days, I’m surprised that this doesn’t happen more often. Better than robbing a bank.

ABC NEWS’ JACK DATE REPORTS: Baltimore City Police Spokesman Sterling Clifford tells ABC News that a fuel tanker truck carrying 7100 gallons of diesel fuel was stolen at gunpoint this morning at about 5:00 am on the 3100 block of Vera street. The truck was operated by Baltimore Tank Lines. Baltimore Police spokesman Sterling Clifford also told ABC News, “This is being investigated as a robbery. There is no connection to terrorism at this point.”
The assailant was described as a black male wearing a blue jumpsuit.
The Maryland Department of Homeland Security is monitoring the situation. Baltimore City Police Department is the lead investigative agency.

“ORLANDO, Fla. — Several arrests involving custom-built trucks with hidden trapdoors used to siphon hundreds of gallons of gasoline may be linked to an organized crime ring targeting stations.”
Maybe this guy thinks he has a better idea. ;-)
What was the capacity of the tanker?
Simple robbery. With the average price of gasoline at over $3, what was the value of the stolen gasoline?
What the thief is likely to do with the proceeds of this theft is really irrelevant.
