(WJZ) BALTIMORE WJZ.COM has learned a fuel truck has been stolen from a gas station in South Baltimore.
Officials say that the truck operator was refilling the gas tubes at a gas station on 3100 block of Vera Street, when a black male, wearing a blue jump suit, got into the driver seat and took off.
Police say the driver tried to get back in the truck, but the suspect pointed a gun at the driver and told him to get out of the truck.
The truck is described as a 1997 Peterbilt with dark wood. On one side it says "Baltimore Tank Lines." There is also a silver trailer attached to the truck.
The truck's Maryland license plate is 436-F45 and the tanker has Maine license plate 126-8185.
There may be some front end damage to the truck, because the suspect struck a fence on his way out.
The truck was last seen heading toward Interstate 95.
The driver was not injured.
Ft. Mead, DC, the White House, Andrews AFB, Bolling, there are any NUMBER of targets there.
Wow! Did he get arrested?
Have you ever driven the roads from B-more to the destinations you cited?
No rush-hour in this area...more like rush-days....
Well with the price of gas these days, I’m surprised that this doesn’t happen more often. Better than robbing a bank.
What gets me about this story was he was “wearing a blue jumpsuit”.... a JUMPSUIT?
That is why I moved the heck out of Baltimore.
Pimp My Gas Tank!
Do you suppose it was supposed to look like a uniform of some sort?
I lived in DC for eight years, so yes, I have driven all of those roads, destinations and I’ve been all over the region. I know the roads, and I know the targets... er.. bases. And yes you can get there without getting through major traffic at certain times of the day. Furthermore, so what? Blow a truck up on a bridge, say, the Woodrow Wilson.... and what do you have? a frickin’ mess
A friend has almost had her car taken twice. Theives can never take it because it is a standard transmission (not a 5speed). They can’t drive it..so they leave it. Thats why I dont buy this as random. Too much skill needed (hitting the fence notwithstanding.)
ping
Nope...his enabling father, who's bailed him out over and over his entire life, paid the bill.
Any updates on the story? Any sightings? Choppers up?
It may mean that he works at a garage.
Isn’t the Old Guard at Fort Myers?
Now thats funny.
It’s been long enough now...the truck is probably hid somewhere. As you say...planned. How would a thief know if the company has GPS or not though?
