Top Air Force Procurement Official Commits Suicide
Military Corruption Dot Com ^ | October 18th, 2007 | Glenn MacDonald

Posted on 10/18/2007 10:24:06 AM PDT by Wills Powers

Undoubtedly, it was the worst day of Charles Riecher's life. The 47 year-old retired Air Force colonel picked up a copy of the October 1st Washington POST and learned his "no-show job" for a Pentagon-favored "non-profit" Pennsylvania corporation had just been exposed.

Nearly $30,000 for no work at all. Before his suicide 13 days later, he admitted to the newspaper that "I really didn't do anything for CRI (Commonwealth Research Institute). I got a paycheck from them."

Indeed he did, while waiting to assume his new duties as the number two man in the Air Force's procurement office. And that windfall came to Riecher from a corporation closely linked to controversial Congressman John Murtha.

Starting with the one in his head... I simply don’t think either the Clinton’s story or the one commonly accepted here are true.

My guess is that this guy was set up. Once he took the first paycheck for the “no show” job he was screwed. There must’ve been some bad crap in AF procurement that needed to be scraped off on an unsuspecting new-hire. As soon as he realized what had happened, and had no chips to call in, he snapped.

Here's another article dealing with this. We warned them about Jack Murtha . Very interesting.

“I have worked in procurement for close to 30 years.”

DOD/FedGov procurement?

Been forced to sole-source purchases from a certain Cong./Sen.’s district/State?

Private vs.”Public” procurement procedures widely vary...

Taking kickbacks don't. If the President of my company (private firm) forced me to procure from a source I didn't agree with I would have not felt guilt as I need my job to support my family and I took nothing.

I no longer work for a large oilfield firm because I simply would not do this very thing.

So this is all Military Corruption Dot Coms fault? Projecting the blame while leaving the proverbial 500 lb. gorilla that’s betraying the public’s trust and raiding the treasury (the money was earmarked by John Moron Murtha)begs the question: what is YOUR agenda and is it compatible with the public’s interest in these corruption stories?

Murtha is a Democrat. You cant say MCC is the Democratic party.
Reicher was appointed by a GOP administration. You can’t say MCC is republican.

The truth is MilitaryCorruption.Com is APOLITICAL. That means they don’t carry water for either political party.

Major Glenn MacDonald is the editor and is a 100% combat disabled vet who served 3 tours in Vietnam. You can’t say he’s a peace creep hippy or communist either.

Now you can go do your own research and decide for yourself if there’s some funny business going on that needs to be explained. Let’s start with Major Jill Metzger. You remember her, don’t you? Just Google her name! Check YouTube too, while you’re at it. Then come back here and tell us taxpayers and citizens that all is well when it sure as hell isn’t!

That’s interesting that somebdoy was sending this retired colonel $30,000 for doing nothing. WHO authorized those checks?? See, THAT’s where the real story is.... THAT’s where the corruption is.

Nobody gives away $30,000 just for a laugh. What was expected in return, and who is going to be arrested for perpetrating this fraud? Is the star witness now dead?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Well, the story from the Air Force is that Colonel Reichers was working in the Pentagon during those three months when he received a paycheck from a non-profit corporation until such time as he was cleared by the White House. Contractors receive exhorbitant salaries all of the time for doing nothing. (depends on a lot of factors)

From the WP stories that I have read on this subject, Carl Levin is the one with the pitchfork out regarding the paycheck for nothing. That makes me leery right there.

Colonel Reichers deserves justice. “No way in hell he committed suicide.”

From the article:

What is in dispute here factually? Can you be specific in your analysis or is this just bias or your part because you can’t handle bad news?

Here's a quote from the article. If you don't see this as a biased rant, I'm not going to waste time arguing with you.

Let us hope we have seen the last of a "vice" president and former CEO of Halliburton who - despite his lack of military service and five draft deferments - can unabashedly bang the drums of war and, while pulling the puppet strings, ultimately profit from all the death and destruction our unnecessary excursion into Iraq has wrought. He should remember, someday when he goes to his ultimate judgment, he can't take a single war profiteer's dime with him.

You can do what you want Pal.

Bush and Cheney have failed to get results with the war and the borders—and now the latest I’m hearing is they are going to be putting Marine Colonel Chessani on trial over the Haditha mess—Chessani wasn’t even there!

You can call it a rant but let’s see how the troops feel when one of their good combatant commanders goes on trial!
This corruption in the Dept of Defense-—You call it a rant, but WE call it bad news for the US of A! Were’s your loyalty Sarge-—To the rule of law and the US Constitution or to the temporary occupants of office? It’s time for you to take your brown snout out of the leadership’s butt Sarge.
