So, there are people in the BSA who are taking advantage of everything the organization offers, but they don't really share the values.

I went through the same thing 15 years ago in Philly in Scouts. One mother was a schoolteacher who wanted to bring a banana and a condom when the kids were around 10 years old. She was outvoted. Another was a male artist of some renown who was an atheist and who eventually removed his kid because of his objections to the moral values.

Unfortunately, in the City, mostly mothers ran the Boy Scout packs because there were so few fathers around, even among the professional lawyer/doctor class. But we did have a couple of good fathers who did stand up for what was right and wouldn't go along with nonsense. But that was 15 years ago, before the level of Christian-hatred has escalated as it now has.

My family is not religious - we’ve looked into different churches to no avail - but we hold deep moral values. Most of those BSA mothers I mentioned who were pro-homosexuality also were very active in their Christian churches. (That’s where I met them.) Needless to say, I’m not a big fan of the BSA, as my own children might not be accepted, yet the parents who say they’re religious are presumed to have moral values.

Still, I think it’s terrible what Philadelphia is doing to the BSA, considering the BSA built and paid for the building itself.
