Medea Benjamin: Pro-Victory Demonstrators in Berkeley 'Angry Vietnam Vets with PTSD on the Fringe'
Wednesday, October 17, 2007 | Kristinn

Posted on 10/17/2007 7:41:23 PM PDT by kristinn

Fidel Castro groupie Medea Benjamin, co-founder of the Marxist pro-terrorist group Code Pink, smeared Vietnam vets today in a statement at a protest held outside a Marine recruiting center in Berkely, California.

Benjamin was there to counter Move America Forward, a pro-victory group that was holding a pro-troops rally at the recruiting center in response to Code Pink's efforts to have the recruiting center evicted from Berkeley.

Wendy Patterson, reporting at 95210: The East Bay Blog, quoted Benjamin derisively referring to the pro-victory demonstrators:

"There’s a lot of angry people over there with PTSD [post-traumatic stress disorder], you know, Vietnam Vets. They have become the fringe; they now realize that Americans support our side.”

Benjamin's group has publicly endorsed the terrorists in Iraq and has given them over $600,000 in cash and humanitarian aid.

Benjamin's comments continue the leftist propaganda that Vietnam vets were all psychotic losers.

As a Nam Vet without PTSD, I would love to get within arms reach of this idiot … I would develop PTSD just for the occasion (would make a great defense).

The best one-sentence definition of PTSD I have ever read was:

“The patient’s experiences do not mesh with society’s model of reality.”

That would describe me and many conservatives I know.

"Benjamin's group has publicly endorsed the terrorists in Iraq and has given them over $600,000 in cash and humanitarian aid."

How is this NOT Treason, and during War to boot?

This is total ignorance and shows the lack of law enforcement by the Justice Department in this country today. The FEAR of the Soros-machine/ACLU keeps this country from PROSECUTING Treasonous bastards in the name of "free speech"? Gimme an F'in break.....

I take this as an attack in the name of friends who died in Vietnam. It’s depraved.

Whenever I think about Medea Bemjamin these days I really get angry at Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. Every time Fox News gives this woman a spot on TV they give her credibility. Medea will always be Medea. She should be shunned by the mainstream media and only brought to light for investigative reporting instead of allowing her to run rings around them in an interview. Fox News tries to portray this idiot as a Democrat which she isn't. Most people in America would never think of consciously following in this woman's footsteps.

O’Reilly has a lot of people watching, and the MSM is smart enough to not expose Medea to their geriatric, largely-patriotic but apolitical audience.

It’s up to us to get the word out. Unfortunately, we’re limited to radio and blogging, with an occasional piece on FNC.

I faced these Commie pink freaks at the Sonora parade this last summer. I saw these idiots marching in the Sonora parade. I had left my vest ... with my Vietnam Vets patches sewn all over it on my Harley. I literally ran back to my bike that was parked two blocks away to get my vest and ran back with it on. I arrived just as they past by ... we exchanged a “few” words. They said “give peace a chance” ... I yelled !@#$%^&* you ... you !@#$%^&* traitor .... or something to that effect.

You can’t play nice with these traitors ... you have to stand up to them or they will continue with their treason. How I wish this was 1943 instead of 2007 ... the consequences of Code Stink treason would have been somewhat more pugilistic in nature back then ... which IMHO is EXACTLY what needs to happen now

“Benjamin’s group has publicly endorsed the terrorists in Iraq and has given them over $600,000 in cash and humanitarian aid.”

Isn’t that out and out ‘aiding and abetting’ the enemy, as in any nation that did the same would be also our enemy, a la Iran? I agree that it’s treason at best.

“The best one-sentence definition of PTSD I have ever read was..”

I spent about 15 months in VN (Danang) during the late ‘60’s then another 18 months in the ‘90’s working in Saigon.

I can’t ever recall meeting a vet in the U.S. who seemed to be suffering from any debilitating combat stress syndrome and I never met a VN person in the ‘90’s suffering from one as far as I could tell, and my driver was an ex-VC.

I’m sure that some vets actually do suffer from PSTD or whatever it’s called but I think most of the folks making those claims are about as truthful as the folks at street corners with the signs claiming to be “Disabled Veteran, Homeless, No Food, No Job, yada yada yada.”

Isn't that a defintion of sanity? Or at least it could be.
