>> I live here because I think it is a beautiful area; my wife and children love it here, we have discussed moving but we like no place better.

My wife and I love to visit San Francisco; if we’re lucky, in a typical year we are able to go 3 to 4 times. I understand your point. Politics aside, it is a wonderful city.

More like the yawning maw of Hell, with great restaurants, magnificent scenery, and clement weather...

For people like myself and SFRepublican (if I can presume to speak for him), the Bay Area is HOME. There are things I like and dislike about living here - the dumb politics is one thing I dislike and work to change. But make no mistake, this is the BEST place to live bar none.

Ignorant people slamming others for where they live, or worse, for the actions and politics of OTHER people who live in the same area, like has been done on this thread, is pretty childish.

I have passed through San Fransico about seven times in my life. I have stayed in town three times. I haven’t gone to the city yet, without being quite content to leave. I don’t see anything charming about the place. And yes, I like to frequent a lot of other places much better.

Honestly, I have no idea what you folks see in that place.
