Why I Like Mike For GOP "Bus Driver" (A Values Voter Looks At Mike Huckabee Alert)
Worldnetdaily.com ^ | 10/16/2007 | Janet Folger

Huckabee: The threat we face is one a lot of Americans don't fully comprehend or understand. This isn't a typical geopolitical war. It is a war against an enemy that has no national borders or boundaries, and it is not a war we are fighting over a border or boundary. It is a theological war. It's not politically correct to say that, it's just the truth. We are fighting people whose religious fanaticism will not be satisfied until every one of us is dead. … It is so incredibly dangerous. More so than any enemy we face. And here's the reality. War is about will. Whoever chooses to leave, loses. We cannot afford to lose. Because this is not a war about Iraq. It is not a war about Afghanistan. It is a war about our survival as a civilization and as a people. And every effort must be made to defend this great country against it.

Huckabee: I cut taxes 94 times as governor. I actually signed a first-ever broad-based tax cut in the 160-year history of our state, and I did that going uphill against the wind because 90 percent of the legislature was Democrat when I became governor in 1996. As governor, I didn't have the joy, the pleasure, or frankly the dubious honor of what members of Congress can do and that is print money, or even just borrow money. We have to live within our budget.

What I did do is one thing. That's a good indication of what I would do. But here's what I pledge. I would not only support but I would sell the Fair Tax. If we could have a tax that is flat, fair, finite and family-friendly, we could change the economy of this country.

This was for the Sep. 17th debate in Florida. A candidate that struck a chord with Values Voters. Mike Huckabee? I agree with what he said. Where does the Republican Party go now and with what candidate?

If he wasn’t such a nanny-stater and open-border shill I’d take a serious look at him. He’s right on the WOT, that’s for sure.

The fundamental problem and solution as described by Margaret McDonald in her vision of 1830.

It was first the awful state of the land that was impressed upon me. I saw the blindness and infatuation of the people to be very great. I felt the cry of Liberty to be just the hiss of the serpent, to drown them in perdition. It was just ‘no God.’

I repeated the words, Now there is distress of nations, with perplexity, the seas and the waves roaring, men’s hearts failing them for fear — now look out for the sign of the Son of man.

Here I was made to stop and cry out, O it is not known what the sign of the Son of man is; the people of God think they are waiting, but they know not what it is. I felt this needed to be revealed, and that there was great darkness and error about it; but suddenly what it was burst upon me with a glorious light. I saw it was just the Lord himself descending from Heaven with a shout, just the glorified man, even Jesus; but that all must, as Stephen was, be filled with the Holy Ghost, that they might look up, and see the brightness of the Father’s glory. I saw the error to be, that men think that it will be something seen by the natural eye; but ‘tis spiritual discernment that is needed, the eye of God in his people.

I don’t want him to drive the bus. So What if he told her border security was really important? He is a panderer and vv’s had better realize that and stop trying to ignite his campaign.

He gets the WOT, so what, just like securing our borders if he gets it or doesn’t he doesn’t have a clue as to what to (as if he would) do.

Where does the party go now and with what candidate? The answer is obvious to any paying attention. Perhaps it is not so obvious to those caught up in polls and pandering. We will see, but right now it looks like Romney is going to be driving the bus.

If you can trust what he says!

Since he seems to be a recent convert (his position on the issues as late as 2005 were extremely liberal to the extent he matches Rudy’s liberalism) to conservatism it is really hard to believe him and as a result to get excited about him.

If he would clearly admit that he was a liberal and then clearly take responsibility and tell us why he was wrong then and what made him change his mind his conservative conversion would be much easier to believe.

So far I have not seen it

And before anyone trys to tell me that he was not a liberal, all you have to do is take a look at the Log Cabin ad which is just Mitt telling everyone about his liberal positions.

As others have stated, he is not a fiscal conservative and he is an unabashed open borders shill.

I don’t want just half the package. At least give me 80%-90%.

Huckabee is not the man.

"If you can trust what he says!"

The operative word is "if", and I can't. That said, Mitt certainly isn't alone in a voter having to commit much to trust and hope for the best. This applies to all the so-called top tier and Huckabee. I am tired of trusting and talk that comes to nothing.

My biggest issue this election is going to be immigration. He us just to weak when it comes to this. For me it will be Duncan Hunter, he has never waffled on this issue.

That’s a pretty big “if”, ain’t it?
