Ron Paul: Fool or Scoundrel?

Posted on 10/14/2007 1:29:17 PM PDT by reasonisfaith

Something about Ron Paul doesn’t smell right. Despite the fact that he appears to advocate core conservative values such as upholding the constitution and limiting government power, instinct tells me not to touch Ron Paul with a ten foot pole. Conservatives understand this. He’s just too kooky. I think it comes down to two possibilities: either Ron Paul is very foolish or he is very evil.

It’s true that on a certain level, tending to our own political and economic affairs here in the U.S. is where we should focus most of our resources. But the cauldrons of tyranny and terror are ever-present in far reaches of the world. When these wicked brews begin to boil over and spill their hateful contents onto our land, that’s the point where we must take action to extinguish the fire at its source. We did so in Japan and Germany sixty-odd years ago, and we are now doing it in Iraq.

Ron Paul’s behavior is consistent with two possibilities. The first possibility allows for the notion that Paul is an honest man with true libertarian beliefs who just doesn’t understand the reality of geopolitics, thus he is basically a kook hopelessly unfit for the oval office. The second possibility is less likely but nonetheless fun for the imagination: Ron Paul is part of a conspiracy, planned for decades, that covertly seeks something sinister—either a Hillary presidency (by means of dividing the conservative vote) or the downfall of the United States.

No, because I never mentioned our currancy.

Why did you say we'd need more gold than we had mined? Just to be clear, we're not talking about jam, are we?

Yeah, I was just making a joke with “phony” after Rush’s “phony soldiers” line.

Your comments show that this entire Ron Paul anomaly is indeed a two-pronged beast: nutcases and crooks.

These tags don’t stick. But they do stick to each one of the real rinos running for President: amnesty-apologizing, abortion-flip-flopping, globalist patsies. Where are their principles? Where are their 30 year records of staunch fiscal and social conservatism? where is their dedication to American sovereignty? Gone missing. They tell big enough lies, and with enough talking heads around them to support their untruths, they get away with it.

The talking heads are telling us how to vote. Ignore the MSM and vote your conscience.

“Why did you say we’d need more gold than we had mined? Just to be clear, we’re not talking about jam, are we?”

Because to pull it off based on our large economy we’ll need more gold than what has been mined in human history.

But hey, if the village idiot wants to put us in a depression then so be it.....He’ll be the one that will have to face the hordes of people with torches and pitchforks. That is unless he backs his domestic policy the way he wants to run his foreign policy by running for the first hole he can find to hide in.

Another thing, how does your heerow propose to impliment his grand plan? The democrats in congress will block him, and he won’t be able to use executive orders since he said that they’re unconstitutional and all.

So short of putting us under martial law and disbanding congress what’s the cuntree bumpkin’s plan to impliment his “plan”? Or is he just a liberal in Conservative clothing who’s blowing smoke up our collective asses to get elected?

Can you explain why?

Where is your heerow’s “principals”? He called for term limits, and even introduced a bill calling for it....Funny thing is that he’s now in his 10th term in congress.

He claims to be against congressional payraises, but I have yet to hear anything about him refusing those paychecks out of protest or at least returning the portion of his paycheck he deems as “overpayment” back to the treasury.

He voted against the AMBER law which called for tougher punishments for child predators as well as organizing the alert network. Funny how he puts the rights of child molesters above the rights of the children they prey on.

So much for principals eh?

FYI, I do ignore the MSM and I will be voting my conscience.....Anyone who is willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to defend this country.

THAT rules out all the democrats, and your knee-knocking village idiot.

“Can you explain why?”

Sure, just as soon as you see the fact that your heerow is an idiot

Hey stranger, you make a lot of sense. How anyone can not see the disaster of having the US driven from Iraq with its tail between its legs escapes me. Like allowing the terrorists around the world to declare victory against the lone super power will cause terrorists to decide to be nice and dissuade new recruits from the path of jihad. Many conservatives have become idiots along with the left because idiots are the only ones who could believe retreat is a viable option. One does not retreat in the face of an enemy that can not hope win while we do not surrender.

Just another fool being led around by the nose by the pied piper of the loony fringe.
