These wings of the party are married to each other and the GOP can not survive without this marriage. Both the libertarian GOP and the social conservative GOP need each other.

While I’m not seeing “focus on the family” type stuff in this, the Heritage Foundation is a very socially conservative PAC.

Regardless, Dr. Paul is a Christian, who as a medical doctor has delivered over 4000 babies and is very pro-life. He has been married to the same woman for 50 years. He is a VERY socially conservative candidate.

You're right, they absolutely do need each other, but it's a shaky marriage, and near divorce these days. There are candidates who today who encompass both traditions, as did Reagan. I don't think Paul is one of them.

The trouble with libertarians is that many of them think that everything will be fine in the world if we follow economists like von Mises at home, and if we withdraw from the world internationally. The U.S. is declining for many reasons, but materialistic economic policies and limited government alone will not save us. Our culture must be revived and preserved, and immigration by unfriendly elements must be stopped.
