Fred Thompson's hot babe

The presidential campaign is heating up. Thankfully, our press is focusing on important issues, such as Fred Thompson's wife.
As it goes, Thompson, who had been divorced 20 years, met her at a supermarket in 2000. She is 24 years his junior, but something clicked.
He carried her groceries to her car. She invited him to a party. They married in 2002 and now have two children.
And now, according to The New York Times Fashion & Style section, Thompson's young wife is spurring debate in Internet chat rooms, cable television and talk radio. Is America ready for a president with a trophy wife, The Times asks.
She's got a permanent tan, after all. Her hair is bleached blond. Her 41-year-old youthfulness contrasts mightily with the grandfatherly nature of her 65-year-old husband.
The question on everyone's mind: Will social conservatives -- those fuddy-duddy moral-values types -- turn away from Thompson because his second wife is a babe?
As is often the case with our media, they got it backward. MORE people will support Thompson because of his wife.
Look, Thompson has a balding noggin. His mug is pale, haggard and woebegone. Nobody is going to mistake him for George Clooney.
Yet the old fellow persuaded a young blonde in a supermarket to 1) ask him out, 2) marry him and 3) have two kids with him. This fellow could talk Ahmadinejad out of his nuclear ambitions.(continued)

Hum, you pay that much attention to Telletubbies...Shouldn't one know what their children/grandchildren are watching?
What's really interesting is how you find it "disturbing on many levels". Are you one of God's minions who read something evil into everything? Purple? Triangles? Certain sounds? Playing cards?

I’m glad she won’t. It’s not the type of dress that does much for anyone. Has it’s own wierd look somehow. She can do better...she is lovely.
To: Glenn
Sure. But isn’t saying a woman has a body like a Telletubbie a bit much.
As to the rest, I am one of God’s creatures who likes a good laugh, relax a bit...

The question on everyone's mind: Will social conservatives --

The sort of question only a DESPERATE liberal would pose.
REAL Men will understand Fred...and will envy him, but like him
at the same time.
REAL Women will wish they had Mrs. Thompson's look in their forties,
but will respect a wealthy, powerful guy that actually marries,
fathers a child, and stays close to home.
In contrast to one famous HORNDOG ex-President that justs goes
globe-trotting to give speeches for Mega-bucks and to
"bag babes around the world".
But, I keep an open mind.
In case some less-than-savory revelations about Fred's love-life
come to light.

The question on everyone's mind: Will social conservatives -- those fuddy-duddy moral-values types -- turn away from Thompson because his second wife is a babe? Why is it so hard to believe that she might actually have married Fred because she loves him? There have been many wives of former Presidents who were very pretty, and I think Laura Bush is beautiful, too.
That being said, her being beautiful isn't going to hurt him, and I don't think that social conservatives are not going to vote for him because he divorced and remarried. I think most of us know that God is a God of second chances. Besides, we ALL still have sin in our lives and we are going to slip and slide in and out of sin until Jesus returns and defeats sin once and for all. "Christians" who Judge Fred will be Judged themselves, so they better be careful.

no Camelot. Hope for the future? I love that too. A nice, refreshing couple in the White House who love and RESPECT each other and with two little kids who can liven up the place. I’m sure many trips to Camp David will be in order and knowing Fred Thompson and what he said on the video...he WILL make time to be a good father. I have no doubt of that. I think Jeri is darling. I think they are a winning combination. they sure run circles around hilllereee the socialist.

Jeri’s willingness to go on the grand stage with Fred is a big plus for him, no doubt about it. I don’t even know what the other candidates’ wives look like. The biggest appearance Giuliani’s wife made was by phone.

This fellow could talk Ahmadinejad out of his nuclear ambitions.
Any particular reasons why the author thinks that? Don't get me wrong, I like Fred, but how does getting someone like Jeri to marry him make him capable of talking an insane dictator out of nuking Israel?
I don't think anyone can "talk" Ahmanutjob out of his nuclear ambitions. Instead we can bomb Iran before they nuke everyone else. The only way to possibly "talk" Dr. Dinnerjacket out of nuking Israel would be to hold a gun to his face and say "Don't do it or I'll shoot."

If Fred does his own shopping, that would be a very positive sign.
I guess it depends upon on how you define shopping. Jeri said when she looked in his shopping cart he had a can of ‘beanie weenies’ and half of a pre made sandwich..... Guess he was shopping for dinner.

If Fred were running as a Democrats, we would not be hearing all this fuss about Fred having a " Trophy Wife " ... remember double standards only apply to Liberals and Democrats.
The biggest group who have a problem with this are the old skanky hyper Feminist.
The way I see it, God blessed Fred, more power to him, both are happy, and people should leave them alone.

( The question on everyone’s mind: Will social conservatives — those fuddy-duddy moral-values types — turn away from Thompson because his second wife is a babe? ) that is what the MSM/DEMOCRATS/LIBERALS and Fred’s GOP opponents are hoping will happen, is it any wonder why ? they are making a BIG issue out of it ? and bring it to everyone’s attention ?
