...The issue with Coulter is not whether she can sell books, but whether she helps or hurts the side of the political debate she claims to support. In my opinion, Coulter has never been a big help to the effort to build a conservative and Republican majority. Her most recent comments on the relationship of Christianity to Judaism, made on the CNBC show " The Big Idea" with Donnie Deutsch on Monday of this week , may prove particularly damaging...
At a time when party affiliation is fraying and a third of Americans consider themselves independent, to build a majority of 50% plus one requires persuasion. Independents will not accept all parts of either party's platform or approach but will choose a candidate for office based on which issues matter to them, and whether one or the other party connects with them on those issues. It is a skill to disagree at times without being disagreeable. Ronald Reagan had it, and it is one of the reasons he became so popular and patched together a large winning coalition . Coulter has clearly decided there is no economic advantage for her in this approach...

There are times when I think that Ann is actually on the other other side.
Sort of like a lot of the GOP Senators.
“...many of whom I have been working with for years to consider switching to the GOP.” Doesn’t sound very promising, with or without Ann’s input. Maybe Baehr should be questioning the opinions of conservative atheist who have attacked religion in general and Christians specifically. Ann’s comments weren’t an attack on anyone, and the people who are feigning indignation will never vote Republican, so quit whining.
She was never given a speaking slot in prior RNCs, prime time or not, so there's no loss for her there.
As for the 10% of Jews that do vote Republican, they are gone.
Which translates to something close to 0.3% (.003) of the electorate. Wow. Very damaging indeed.
There are many roles in warfare. Not everyone is a flamethrower, but they come in handy under certain circumstances. I, for one, find it very enjoyable to have an intelligent, beautiful woman that can fight fire with fire. Ann fills the role quite well. It is only fair to say her book sales indicate she is a great help to the conservative cause.
I think she does fine. Funny that FREEPERS were on her good list awhile back and and now that she says something that is not in agreement suddenly she sucks. Not in my book.

Executive overview: Ann Coulter believes that everyone should be Christian, even Jews. I didn't see anything with regard to forced conversions or anything and, frankly, I didn't find the remark extreme. By definition, any religion must believe that everyone should be a convert and Coulter's comments where Christian doctrine 101. Anyone who believes otherwise is certainly not a Christian.
That’s pure, unmitigated, tripe.
Ann tells the truth — usually just quoting the deranged leftists. The left, on the other hand, attacks with brash lies and distortions of the truth.
I’m glad to have Ann on my side.
I agree with the article. Anne gets her jollies from political shock talk.
I hardly think Jewish pubbies are so easily manipulated by Media Matters. Jewish Americans who are, are already pulling the lever for the Rats. :-)
Too bad our reps don't
I listened to that, and I think she’s being attacked for professing a basic Christian tenet. She never once said that people should be forced to convert, and she never said that non-Christians were inferior to Christians. All she did was say that, as a Christian, she believes that others should be Christians, too.
What’s your problem with my post?
If you want scripture, post it yourself.
This has gone far beyond Media Matters.
It is now in the MSM and dinner conversation at Jewish households.
I would be hard pressed to label my fellow Christians as perfected Jews simply because it sounds elitist, even if it's not intended to be. Not saying this was done on purpose on Ann's part. Maybe this is part of the phraseology that is used in her particular church.
“I think she does fine. Funny that FREEPERS were on her good list awhile back and and now that she says something that is not in agreement suddenly she sucks. Not in my book.”
Exactly, Ann Coulter has more steel in her spine then many of the so called Faux Conservatives that I have read.
The idea that she can express her views openly and honestly seems to be a shocking novelty to some, I would wonder why that is rather then guess to closely to the truth.
If you folks don’t “get it” you perhaps should read Saul Alinsky’s “Ten Rules” it’s available as a Wiki article, but I would see some of that intellectual laziness cured...
Good luck reasoning with this crowd.
We tried it before the 2006 elections and thanks to uncompromising political puritans who can't see the big picture, we got a Democratic sweep of Congress.
And the more I read some of these threads the more I believe it is actually possible for Hillary to win the White House.
Scarey!
I saw Anne during that interview because she tried to get much said in just a minute and was cut off big time. I think her using the word perfected was probably very offensive to the Jew who was interviewing her. I cringed a little when she said it because I saw where it was going.
This whining about Ann is getting too old to even bother replying to.
Well, I wonder what Ann actually said... I mean was it something taken out of context like the Rush fru-frou?
Was it a joke.
Maybe the article says and maybe I’d better go read it.
