Me too. Those three are the only names I recognized even though I have been to the movies this very year.

Religiosity is incompatible with forced collectivism (socialism). Forcefully taking someone's possessions because you think you have a better idea of how they should be used is just theft, no matter how you try to justify it.

I think that religion, at least of the Judeo-Christian variety, is incompatible with socialism because socialists necessarily exalt the government over everything else, including God. In fact, Judeo-Christian belief would impede a socialist state, because a socialist state must use things like theft and murder to keep the minions in line, not to mention that children are taught to respect the State over their own parents. That's 3 commandments right there. Actually four, if you include the idolatry which is socialism.

. . . why not make a movie in which McCarthy is the hero.

I would pay to see that. Twice. At least.

I recognize four names on the list. I'm not sure whether that says more about me or about Hollywood.

OLM is my parish. An excellent community of Christians, led by the able Fr. Bill Kerze, and the venerable 91-year-old Monsignor Sheridan. The parish school, which my son attends, is also terrific.

McCarthy’s great accomplishment was that he kept communist spies out of the US government for 20 years from the 50’s through the 60’s. When they returned again during the 70’s they were mostly walk ins for money to the soviets. But by that time the Soviets were on their last legs. Their last idea was to carry out the wishes of stalin before his death.

What was Stalin’s last idea before he died?

Krushcev said in his famous 1956 speech that Stalin was about to launch another major purge before he died in 1953. In the months before Stalin died 100 or so Russian Jews were executed on Stalin’s command in what became known as the doctor’s plot. Russia’s newspapers were full of anti jewish propaganda.

Its no stretch to figure that Stalin’s last wish was to rid the soviet union of jews. and especially rid the communist party which was top heavy with russian jews.

its easy to see how american communists would have seen the mccarthy huac hearings in the light of Stalins efforts—and the eventual expulsion of Russia’s Jews.

Never mind that nothing remotely like what what Stalin had in mind was ever even in the cards for the USA. That said published reports from both US & soviet intelligence files in the 1990’s showed that the Rosenberg’s Hiss et al were spies. During the FDR & Truman administrations the US government was full of communist spies.

Martin Sheen made up the list but put himself down as #7 because he is a modest man. (joking)

The term “Christian” is being used so loosely it’s becoming meaningless.

Patricia Heaton is one classy lady. I haven’t totally warmed up to her new sitcom yet, but she’s one nice woman.

Guess what, salvation is something instantaneous and something that keeps happening for a lifetime. You can’t be expected to understand that but I’m absolutely positive Mel does; Christians reading this will too. I do to because I am Saved by the Blood of Christ Jesus and being saved from the flawed nature I inherited at birth. You should try it. It’s really invigorating and exciting, having a person relationship with the God Who created this entire universe!

Sorry, but going to church does not make you a Christian.

Judging by his behavior and choices, he is an ultra-uber Liberal, this man no more knows God or is a Christian than Bill Clinton is.

Seeing the names on the list, I think they use the term christian very, very loosely.
