I’m very please to be able to say quite truthfully, that I have no idea who any of those people are, except Mel Gibson, Denzel Washington and Martin Sheen. Mind you, I haven’t been to the cinema since 1988.

For the record, Beliefnet.com is not a Christian web site. It is a spiritual web site that includes all religions.

Those are the ones I can picture. I've at least heard of some of the others.

So they clammed up?

Interesting.

Just reading up on some things, I ran across this...

"McCarthy is often incorrectly described as part of the House Committee on Un-American Activities (technically, HCUA, but generally known as HUAC). HUAC is best known for the investigation of Alger Hiss, and for its investigation of the Hollywood film industry, which led to the blacklisting of hundreds of actors, writers and directors. HUAC was established in May 1938 as the "Dies Committee" before McCarthy was elected to the Federal office, and, being a House committee, had no connection with McCarthy, who served in the Senate."

Yes, now that I've looked, I see it is rather eclectic.

I graduated from Pepperdine University in 1983. While there, I attended the Catholic Church, Our Lady of Malibu. While, I vehemently disagree with Martin Sheen’s politics, he was a regualar there and seemed sincere and dedicated to his faith. What happened to his son, I have no idea....

HUAC was established in May 1938 as the "Dies Committee"...

Samuel Dickstein helped create and served on the Dies Committee.

"In the 1990s scholars discovered documents in the Moscow archives showing Dickstein was paid $1250 a month from 1937 to early 1940 by the NKVD, the Soviet spy agency, which hoped to get secret Congressional information of anti-Communist and pro-fascist forces. When Dickstein left the Committee the Soviets dropped him from the payroll.[1]"

Dickstein.

Considering Anschutz owns the L.A. Kings, and AEG, I would say he is the most powerful. He is on a mission to produce more family-friendly movies. I read a piece from a speech of his on Imprimis, Hillsdale College's newsletter about the lack of moral movies in Hollywood.

Whatever Happened to the Family Film?

I know the Anschutz family and they are good Christians. They are very wealthy but they live a “regular” life. They have their priorities right.

Yep no doubt there were commies in the industry but there were also most likely innocent causalities when the "evil" white male establishment got over zealous. What you are seeing in the industry now is the backlash from those days.

Namely, Christianophobia resulting in the blackballing of Christians, which is equally as wrong.
