NASCAR cooties?
Washington Times ^ | 10/13/07 | House editorial

Posted on 10/13/2007 1:15:03 AM PDT by JohnHuang2

House Republicans in NASCAR-friendly districts are having fun with this one, which plays to the stereotypes. In the course of a public-health and emergency preparedness trip, Democratic homeland-security committee staffers told their aides to get immunized before a trip down South which included visits to two crowded NASCAR events in Concord, N.C., and Talladega, Ala. The immunizations included Hepatitis A and B, tetanus, diphtheria and influenza. North Carolinians grew offended.

Some cried "redneck rash," especially over the Hepatitis B inclusion because the virus is rarely transmitted in the United States except through sexual contact or intravenous drug use. A shot is commonly administered for Third World travel.

A perfect example of how profoundly out of touch Democrats are with the rest of America.

The Hollywood anti-South bias has done its work on these maroons. Can you imagine what the poor souls in the third world think when they see the same slanted propaganda?

Also, there’s probably a bit of the North/South thing happening there, and that’s been goin’ on a long time.

And these are the FOOLS who are trying to decide (ARE deciding!) how to “control us” from getting attacked by terrorists?

Can’t even evaluate the threat from a NASCAR crowd.

There is a number of race tracks in the mid states, west and north. North/South isn’t even an issue.

This boobs know that most NASCAR fans are not Dems , that is the issue.

I love motorsports but I lost interest in NASCAR a few years back. I mostly follow sportscar racing (http://www.americanlemans.com/home/ALMSHome.aspx). This is nearly as stupid as Dateline (or one of those vapid news shows) that had muslims visit various NASCAR races to see if they would be burned at the stake by enraged rednecks. Nothing happened of course.

Since Mark Martin retired I haven’t really been following it much this year.

Yep. As a Southerner, I've witnessed this all of my adult life, particularly out of folks from California and the Northeast. A lot of these folks seem to equate a southern drawl with stupidity, especially the Hollyweird, laimstream media types, and those in academia. Now, according to these twits, we southerners are harbingers of diseases, too....

For all these folks who think Southerners are stupid and backwards, why is it that so many of you are moving to the south?

I suspect most Democrats of having already received what ever vaccine it is that cures them of Americanism....

'the virus is rarely transmitted in the United States except through sexual contact or intravenous drug use.'

This may say more about what they plan to do than anything else.

Mark has not retired, in fact he has signed to run a full time season with Hendrick next year.

Well, it’s apparent you’re not following it since Mark is still racing.

Not in every race. If he were I would be but he isn’t running for a championship any more.

Recently, at the dentist, I was reading Sports Illustrated and it had a NASCAR feature. It had 3 pages of polls about the drivers. One of the questions was, Democrat or Republican? and not ONE admitted being a dem.

What they plan to do and what they actually get to do are two different things. Southern women do not have one night stands.

‘Bless their hearts’! I think that is one reason why they have such low regard for the South. We do not ascribe to their ‘values’ - thank goodness!
