KC Mayor Meets With Latino Groups (La Raza extortion alert!)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Some of the city's Latino leaders are talking about a recall campaign against the mayor because he refuses to remove a member of the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps from the city's parks board.

Mayor Mark Funkhouser spent about an hour Thursday in a private meeting with representatives from about 30 Latino groups.

The groups are upset with the mayor's appointment of Frances Semler, who is a member of the anti-illegal-immigration group the Minutemen.

If Semler doesn't leave the parks board, two large conventions may pull out of Kansas City.

Several reporters asked the mayor if he would ask Semler to step down, but he refused to comment on the issue.

Rita Valenciano with the Coalition of Hispanic Organizations said she thinks there may be room for compromise on the issue.

The National Council of La Raza had planned on a 2010 convention in Kansas City. Its national board meets next week.

How funny is it to be charged with racism by members of a group called THE RACE?

Any website or organization where we can provide support for a mayor standing by their principles?

It still bears repeating:

We should probably commission some reputable studies on the likely benefits and effectiveness of...

1.)’Criminal Exile’ to whatever other continent is most appropriate in a given case. and

2.) ‘Repatriation Incentives’ for cases of non-criminal dysfunction to whatever other continent is most appropriate in a given case.

Thanks for the update, I was wondering what was going on with this.

Sending a bunch of goons to Semler’s house to try to intimidate her into quitting didn’t work so now they’re threatening a recall of the mayor.

Here’s to hoping they’re as successful as Mexicans Without Borders and co. have been in Prince William County, VA with all their tantrums, boycotts, marches, etc.... Boycott? What boycott?

The self-important stunts they pull just make the average American angrier.
