Oh, wait - the surgery was performed at a hospital in the US?

Now that's a great point.

Yeah, OK. These things are a strain on the family so I'll add my hope he recovers without incident.

(Would it be too much to ask that he has a life-changing experience while under anesthesia and wakes up a military supporting conservative?)

As a fellow human being who also has a family, I wish Ted Kennedy a quick and complete recovery from his surgery.

I also hope that this experience makes Senator Kennedy (Drunken Murderer, MA) reflect upon his mortality, and that his reflection on that topic causes him to understand that he only has a limited amount of time to spend with his family, and that this causes him to retire. Then I hope he speaks to Justice Stevens about the same topic.

Even though he is wrongheaded politically he is one of gods children and I wish him a speedy recovery.

A speedy recovery and comfortable retirement.

“blocked carodid artery”

That sounds better than “golf ball stuck in his blow-hole”.

“So circulation to his brain was cut off with no ill effect.
I knew it, the guy really is brain dead.”

OK, I know we shouldn’t be joking around about a SERIOUS surgery...
but your comment reminds me of a quote given by
Richard “The King” Petty
to a reporter as he was recovering from one of his driving accidents and
wishing to assure his fans that he was fine and getting better:

“The doctors took an X-Ray of my head and they said there was nothing there.”

I just about broke a rib when I heard that years ago.
Of course, “The King” was just saying the doctors didn’t find any
medical problems via his cranial X-Ray.

“The operation, performed by Dr. Richard Cambria, the hospital’s chief of vascular surgery, was completed without complications, and the Massachusetts Democrat was expected to be released in several days.”

Sounds like he’ll be O.K. Those check ups are a good idea Teddy. Keep ‘em up!

If that happened, his friends would think he was mentally ill.

So, I'll just pray that God brings Unca Teddy close to Him, in love and reconciliation, and changes his heart and mind. St. Jude is, after all, the patron of nearly hopeless cases.

Let's live up to our higher than DU standards on this one, please?

Not gonna happen. Are statistics kept on most threads pulled on a single topic? We could be seeing a new World Record, here...

If you're referring to what Jesus said in Matthew 7, then understand that Jesus was speaking of us "judging" people by our standards, or rather, secular standards. As a believer, applying God's perspective, which is available in His Word, we are uniquely qualified to "judge".

Vengence (revenge) belongs to God. But "judgement" does indeed belong to us!

“A speedy recovery and comfortable retirement.”

Amen.
But it does remind me of what one preacher heard from an elderly
“church lady” when she commented on The Clinton Administration.
I won’t post the text here (as it’s not totally applicable to the
present situation), but here’s the citation.

Psalm 109:8 (King James Version)

Good thing he is getting his surgery now, under Hillary Care he could be waiting a long time. I am also shocked he didn’t go to Cuba for his surgery as according to Michael Moore, medical care there makes the Mayo Clinic look like a third world hospital.

Gracious Savior, Ever Faithful One,
Hear, now, I pray Thee, the supplication of Thy servant, that Thou, according to Thine overflowing riches in glory, wouldest pour out health, and life upon Senator Kennedy; that Thou wouldest again extend to him Your Divine Invitation to that Great Wedding Feast whereat all Thy faithful servants shall celebrate the joining together of The Lamb with his spotless Bride. Even as the surgeons have worked upon his body to promote life, now see fit, O Sovereign LORD, to work upon his heart to promote life eternal. Though he be not favoured among Thy people for his many transgressions and abuses of power, we ask that Thou extend to him that same mercy which Thou hast so graciously extended unto us; that he may also taste of the fruit of the Tree of Life, which is Calvary’s Tree, and so be, at last, saved unto the coming of Thine indomitable Kingdom.

This I ask that Ye wouldest accomplish in honour of, and out of Thine own great zeal for, Thine own Most Holy NAME, to Thine eternal glory.

Amen.
