Mexico's Fox openly calls for North American Union

WASHINGTON – Mexico's former President Vicente Fox is making no secret of his desire to promote a "North American Union" to compete economically with Europe and the Far East.

In a promotional tour for his new book, "Revolution of Hope," Fox told NPR's "Talk of the Nation" audience: "That's part of my Americas dream, that we can build our future together. We are partners with United States and Canada through NAFTA. There are other blocs in Latin America, but at the very end a continental trade agreement and union on the long term would be a way to develop ourselves and to be able to have the standards and level of living that we all need."

Fox shocked many in the U.S. earlier in the week when he told CNN's Larry King that he and President Bush had agreed to work toward a common currency not only for North America but for Latin America as well.

It was possibly the first time a top official of Mexico, Canada or the U.S. openly confirmed a plan for a regional currency. Fox explained the current regional trade agreement that encompasses the Western Hemisphere is intended to evolve into other previously hidden aspects of integration.

According to a transcript published by CNN, King, near the end of the broadcast, asked Fox a question e-mailed from a listener.

"Mr. Fox, I would like to know how you feel about the possibility of having a Latin America united with one currency?"

Fox answered in the affirmative, indicating it was a long-term plan. He admitted he and President Bush had agreed to pursue the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas – a free-trade zone extending throughout the Western Hemisphere, suggesting part of the plan was to institute eventually a regional currency.

I suspect most of the FR posters are from the TLAs, such as FBI, CIA, NSA &etc pretending to be freedom loving persons, meanwhile compiling lists of who is posting and then while they are at it, throwing in a little psyops for good measure.

Not neccesarily. What is in a name? If the USA was to admit the dozen or so Canadian states and the however many states there are in Mexico, youd just have a substantially larger number of States in America.

Are you serious? It won't be the Us admitting anybody because there will be no U.S.! It would cede over our National Sovereignty by passing laws that would give more authority to the NAU! Below is just one example:

John Warner National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2007 essentially eliminated the Posse Comitatus Act and re-wrote the Insurrection Act so that the president can declare a 'public emergency' and take control of state-based National Guard units without the consent of the governor or local authorities, in order to 'suppress public disorder'!

It's far more than The socialists love the attitude you express.

Very true. Most conservatives are sick of it all and are taking time out.

The things I am hearing lately have nothing to do with conservatism. Conservatives get bashed and demonized.

One thing about Mexico, they haven’t concealed what they’re up to. Months ago, in an interview with a west coast US newspaper, a Mexican govt. minister said (sneered), they were ‘integrating’ with the US and that there was nothing the US could do to stop it. (They come with a victim mentality, they think they’ve been cheated. They deserve a free ride and they know who should pay for it. (You and me.) Soon afterward, Fox suggested that if we didn’t like that, we could rebuild Mexico’s infrastructure, soup to nuts. This NAU destroys the essence of the US, its culture, language, mores, work ethic, and yes, laws. You can’t sugarcoat this. It stinks on every level, and it’s illegal.

Gore or Clinton could have never pulled this off because Republicans would have stopped them.

There was a time when most threads drew an average of 100 posts. Now were lucky to get half that. I’ve posted stuff lately that would previous spark a riot now it gets a yawn.

Once the NAU comes into being, you’d better believe One World govt. is on the front burner with the UN (third world countries and Muslims), giving the orders. The US will be told to provide military might, endless money, expertise, whatever, whenever. Do as we’re told. Sit down and shut up.

Uniting all the Americas may not be as bad as we think. Especially with all the nut jobs running some of the South American countries. A new currency may also be a big headache for the drug cartels.

You are naive if you think ceding our sovereignty, laws and our own currency to a new world order will be good for The U.S.

I think most conservatives know the GOP has become the weak end of the Democrats. The elites of both parties want the same thing and merely use each other to get what they want.

We have been taken over here and everywhere. Very depressing. The conservative factions in the GOP are being demonized daily and people are sick of it. Soooo they tune out.

Just one little thing..............
Those greasers (they call US ‘gringos’ (dogs), after all) from South of the border HATE the USA and its ‘white’ population.
They delight in the fiction that our Southwest was ‘stolen’ from them, and that their goal is to ‘take it back’.
They want to PUNISH us by ripping us off to the maximum ammount possible, by using our Social Insurance and Welfare system.
Gotta fight ‘em, boys and girls. They have lotsa allies up here (Pres. Jorge comes to mind) and they WILL WIN if we don’t.

How so? More states means more representatives at local level, which in turn means more people to criticise the excesses of big government.

So what? I thought conservatives were agin big government anyway. Your example just proves that the “national sovereignty” you are so proud of is capable of being, and in actuality, is being abused. If each of the states have their rights, and those rights are constitutionally guaranteed, then how does it matter how many are in the union?

They are not going to become states of the US, have you studied none of this?

We will all be subject to International law, our Supreme Court will be a usless joke, and US states will have no power. Does that sound like a sovereign US to you?

Mexico doesn’t want to become a part of the US, they want to be part of the control.

What?

Do suggest that the Federal government of the US would have some authority over the various states of Mexico or the Provinces of Canada?

We would enter into treaties with these nations which would affect their member states, as well as ours, but the USA gains nothing by adding the member states of Mexico or Canada.
