WASHINGTON Mexico's former President Vicente Fox is making no secret of his desire to promote a "North American Union" to compete economically with Europe and the Far East.
In a promotional tour for his new book, "Revolution of Hope," Fox told NPR's "Talk of the Nation" audience: "That's part of my Americas dream, that we can build our future together. We are partners with United States and Canada through NAFTA. There are other blocs in Latin America, but at the very end a continental trade agreement and union on the long term would be a way to develop ourselves and to be able to have the standards and level of living that we all need."
Fox shocked many in the U.S. earlier in the week when he told CNN's Larry King that he and President Bush had agreed to work toward a common currency not only for North America but for Latin America as well.
It was possibly the first time a top official of Mexico, Canada or the U.S. openly confirmed a plan for a regional currency. Fox explained the current regional trade agreement that encompasses the Western Hemisphere is intended to evolve into other previously hidden aspects of integration.
According to a transcript published by CNN, King, near the end of the broadcast, asked Fox a question e-mailed from a listener.
"Mr. Fox, I would like to know how you feel about the possibility of having a Latin America united with one currency?"
Fox answered in the affirmative, indicating it was a long-term plan. He admitted he and President Bush had agreed to pursue the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas a free-trade zone extending throughout the Western Hemisphere, suggesting part of the plan was to institute eventually a regional currency.

Dude, SG-1’s just a TV show...AKA fiction.
Just in case you don’t know.
Hmm I don't trust either of those 2.
The only way not to get crushed by history is to get in front of it and make things work on our terms. Economic and political integration is inevitable (conspiracies or not) but how it turns out is pliable. At the least, we’re going to have to deal with an EU and some kind of Asian union in the future. Like it or not, the world is marching in this direction and well have no choice but to deal with it. Business and peoples lives are becoming more internationally entwined everyday. (Remember the EU started as a post WW II agreement on steel (or maybe coal?) trade agreement.)
Itll never happen, but if the US announced unilaterally it wanted to absorb Mexico as several states in geographic/economic/Mexican Government reorganization* phases over perhaps a 50 year period, the Mexican Government would have to except it almost entirely on our terms. If they did anything less, their corrupt/rotten government would probably be destroyed by riots. (Well maybe not, but it sounds good.)
Maybe Im wrong, but what the heck. Its always fun to spark some debate, late flaming begin!!!
RedDog#1
* Maybe organization would have been better choice of words, since its not really organized now.
We were extremely lucky to have been blessed with British governance. Just about everywhere in the world that you look (except africa) where the British Empire rested, the rule of law (for the most part) prevails to this day.
They work very long hours, they frequently hold more than one job, they open their own businesses.
I see that as little different from many others in our society. The "lazy american" is a meme I don't buy.
The problem HERE lies with Americans who are willing to allow Spanish as an unofficial second language
I absolutely agree with you on that. Wish we could put a stop to it.
But I think the end result is worth the effort. Red China and the Islamic Neo-Kaliphate is our real enemy. And we need allies. Dont look to the Euroweenies.
I see your point, but I'd rather they learn to respect rule of law and property rights on their own dime, not mine.
Not sure, but it's a propsition that's probably right more often than not with pols!
I guess Vicente Fox is officially a part of the tinfoil hat crowd now.
I thought the NAU was a figment of everyone’s imagination as some people on FR have stated?
***That’s some figment.
that would probably be best thing happening to Mexico ever! That country is so rich in natural resources. We’d come in and rebuild the place so there would be no excuse for illegal aliens.
Thanks for the ping Quix... Very troubling indeed. I wonder if the MSM will pick up on this and inform us poor sheeple??? *crickets chirping*
AND TUBERCULOSIS AND OTHER 3RD WORLD DISEASE.
I still believe in Manifest Destiny, which Thomas Jefferson also believed in. If we can do it without a shot being fired, all the better. We would still have the states, just more of them. If Canada and Mexico really want to join with us, our form of government is proven to be far superior to either of theirs. There may be talk about it being something else, but the population would not let that happen. There is no valid reason why we can't be one big republic.
What Fox wants is about as important as what Jimmy Carter wants.
He’s retired, as you know.
Making the USA into some kind of “Union” is not the way to do it.
I still believe in states rights by the way too.
And it would be a convoluted top-down mess just like the European Union. Which (BTW) is marxist in origin, which is NOT the vision of the founding fathers at all; but TYRANNY!
teaser
= = =
A fair label, I suppose.
Though some of us really do have other priorities beyond FR.
And, I figure that folks serious about searching out the truth are well able to do it on their own.
I’m only partly interested in helping the middle range folks in terms of medium interest in the truth . . . getting such refs.
My PhD is in clinical psychology.
Yours?
Actually, SG-1 is also part propaganda . . . too.
And then, there’s the head of Lockeed Skunk Works who, at his retirement speech insisted:
“IF YOU CAN IMAGINE IT, WE CAN ALREADY DO IT.”
I think the quote is pretty close to 100% accurate. The gist is 100% accurate, anyway.
BTTT!
Given that the MSM has been a major tool of the globalists from before my birth, I think we know the answer to that one.
TYRANNY
would be the mild, nicest name
for their plans . ....
Even traditional notions of slavery do NOT come close to describing the reality.
I’d love to know who the hell appointed Bush and Fox the right to come up with their treasonous plan .....I’m an American.....I don’t want our sovereignty (sp) given away...the American people should have a VOTE on whether or not we want to give away our rights, our national rule of law.our country, those so and so’s ....you don’t want to know what I’d like to do with both of those snakes and their plan. The American people had better darned well wake up....our own gov. is doing its’ damnedest to dismantle our nation....what the heck is more important than that....it’s our very way of life.
