Like many of us, Dobson and the others can't be very happy to be in this position. OTOH, so many pro-lifers have a lifetime of opposing pro-abortion candidates. So voting for a Giuliani is a betrayal of all of that.

Before they go third-party, I'd think they'd pull out all the stops to support Huckabee or Brownback.

"Dr. James Dobson Caught Between a rock and the other Rock.

"Dr. James Dobson Caught Between a rock and the ego."

There fixed it!

I think Dobson is right on this one.

I will never lower my standards and vote for Rudy. I’ll skip that race on the ballot. If its between Rudy and Hillary.

I am one of millions. We are not giving up the pro-life issue for Rudy.
I don’t think for a minute that Rudy will nominate any conservative to the S. Court.

I was just thinking the same thing. It is explicitly forbidden. His campaigning now is against a non profit status. I had noticed that he took great pains to say that he wasnt talking on behalf of his organization just himself when he was on Hannity but having meetings and giving interviews belies that point. But (gets ready for the fire), this wouldnt be the first time he has used semantics to do as he pleases or put out what he thinks.

OK, we won’t let the door hit us on the way out.

This is why we have primaries.

Let's see what you've got.

Go on. Bring it.

How many times does it have to be said that Dr. Dobson is not a “preacher”, and Focus on the Family is not a “church”?

Yeah, gee, you’re right. Completely blow off something that is so close to your core beliefs. Yep. Life. Who needs that to get in the way?

Glad we have your type around to keep us all straight.

Then by your account why is he on the pulpit?

I think Dobson met well but nothing can be forced and it is the Lord ball game!

People of a nation have to earn good leadership!

Elsewise we are back to lesser of two evils!

What ever we were doing to get Reagan we should be doing again!

We are blessed when we deserve it!

Third party is rebellion to the universal laws!

Let me be more explicit: A vote for a third party — or abastaining to vote — is a tacit vote for Hillary. Period.

LOL, already we hear the cry of the party faithful. The Framers did not intend for us to vote for a party, we were asked to vote for a candidate that represented our views. If Hillary wins it's not the fault of those that choose to vote in a different fashion, it's the fault of the candidate for not representing the views of those whose vote he seeks. And instead of the party faithful influencing their candidate, they blame those in the electorate for daring to think for themselves. The audacity!!

Now there are two problems here. First, the electorate is generally too stupid and too easily led to influence choosing the Senate or the Presidency. They vote for who promises the most. Or they see it as some sort of team sport and blame anyone who refuses to not play for their team. That's like asking someone if they want to be hit in the head or the gut. A sensible person will choose neither. And you're blaming them for it.

Second, whoever Dobson would suggest as a third party candidate would be just as much as a nanny statist as anyone the Republicans or Democrats would put regularly put up.

The candidates no longer debate on whether something should be done (i.e. federal control over a myriad of things) but what fashion it should be done in.

I don’t know what Fred has lost through Dobson’s rash and unfortunate stance, but I know what Dobson has lost.

He’s lost my husband, former subscriber.

Me, too. I took my name off the FOTF mailing list after over 20 years. I am considering selling the Dobson books I own.

I don’t need advice from someone with such TERRIBLE judgment.

And yet he apparently thinks he can endorse a third party candidate.

You are living down to your screen name, again. He said no such thing. It was a threat, with weight, because for eight long years the GOP has been in the process of stiffing the base that elected them.

Like I said in that post,

Interesting vision you have of such a party — no real soul, like the Whig party. You’ve heard of that party, haven’t you? All the ignorant, egotistical social conservatives left that party and formed the republican party.

OK, we won’t let the door hit us on the way out.

Comment:

I would hope that there wasn’t 50 so-called self described fundamentalist leaders willing to sell Gods favorite country down the tubes to satisfy their Sanhedrin ego’s.

I also hope these guys and gals are not waiting with baited breath for Hillary and the evil Clinton Machine to invite them to sleep in the Lincoln bedroom as a thank you for helping throw the election.

They better instead hope that the Clinton Machine forgets to invite them for a peaceful noonday picnic at Fort Marcy Park.

As for forming a new party made up of fundamentalist, ain’t gonna happen, ask that egomaniac Ross Perot.

On the way out of the party please do not turn out the lights because this Christian and lots of other Patriots will still be here fighting the good fight against the Evil of Left Wing Liberalism.

Just the lowly opinion of a red state wannabe.
