Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."
In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."
"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.
"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."
Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."
Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

Yes, except that we don’t go around hitting people over the head with that idea and offending them!
Then why did Adonai even present the idea at all to Isaac?
“She agreed with an equivalent statement”
It wasn’t an equivalent, really. She said she thought it would be “better” if all were Christians. That can mean nothing more than that it is better if the inhabitants of a country have some solid common ground. It could also just mean that she believes Christianity is better than other religions, which is, implicitly, what the believer in any religion believes.
She never said anything about Jews “needing” to become perfected, or to become Christians.
To test Abraham - BUT HE STOPPED HIM. G-d does not want human sacrifice. Period. Now, get over it!
I'm sure he would rather I not, but being human I am prone to un-christian reactions when my faith is equated to islam. A weakness I am trying to correct.
Alouette,
I do pray that the Lord will wrap His arms around you and give you peace and health.
May the Lord bless you and keep you:shalom b'shem Yah'shuaThe Lord make his Face shine upon you:
and be gracious to you:
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
and give you peace.
I like that description ; very apt !
Dennis Prager is on now dissecting the whole conversation between Ann and Deutsch.
Oh, for Heaven’s sake! Ann can live off this for eons without any further need for publicity!
Turn on the Dennis Prager show right now.
She isn’t on Dennis’ show. He’s just discussing it. When you hear the whole thing you will see that she wasn’t being inflammatory. Dennis certainly doesn’t think so.
Actually she said America would be better if we were all Christians. That's an unattractive political position, and not one Republicans should associate with.

DEUTSCH: -- are calculated marketing teases, and your dreams, which are genuine, came true having to do with immigration, having to do with women's -- with abortion -- what would this country look like?
COULTER: It would look like New York City during the Republican National Convention. In fact, that's what I think heaven is going to look like.
DEUTSCH: And what did that look like?
COULTER: Happy, joyful Republicans in the greatest city in the world.
DEUTSCH: No, no, no, no, but I'm talking about this country. You don't want to make this country -- it's not about Republicans. I'm saying, what would the fabric of this country look like? Forget that the Republicans would be running the show.
--------------
COULTER: Well, OK, take the Republican National Convention. People were happy. They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America, they --
DEUTSCH: Christian -- so we should be Christian? It would be better if we were all Christian?
COULTER: Yes.
DEUTSCH: We should all be Christian?
COULTER: Yes. Would you like to come to church with me, Donny?
DEUTSCH: So I should not be a Jew, I should be a Christian, and this would be a better place?
COULTER: Well, you could be a practicing Jew, but you're not.
DEUTSCH: I actually am. That's not true. I really am. But -- so we would be better if we were - if people -- if there were no Jews, no Buddhists
--------------
DEUTSCH: That isn't what I said, but you said I should not -- we should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians, then, or --
COULTER: Yeah.
She should not have been duped by Donny Deutsch - she fell right into his trap.

I am at work and I have no access to this guy anyway, what is he saying?
You just want to beat up on Anne because she is a mouthy woman and belongs to a very minor Christian body.
You can plead ignorance of your own motives all you want, but it will do you no good.
I think you can hear his show through Townhall.com. He played the whole conversation and it really sounds like Deautch is digging for a particular response from Ann. Eventually she explains what I understand to be pretty standard Christian doctrine that she believes it would be best if everyone became Christian. Deutsch claims he is an observant Jew in the discussion, I think, but if he was I think he wouldn’t feel threatened by her remarks. Unless he had no idea that that is what many Christians believe. I know some religious Christians so what she said didn’t seem unusual to me. If she had said, “and we should go after all the non-christians with our swords and tell them to convert or die” THEN that would have been inflammatory.
I guess that's a big difference. Jews do not think of the afterlife. "Dust to dust" is more the philisophy. Of course if one is evil during his life, then for all eternity he will be remembered that way by those living. That could be considered a "hellish eternity."
