Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."
In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."
"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.
"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."
Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."
Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

Too old for it now.
I am sure you are vastly smarter than me and a much better Christian than I am however I do not see what Ann Coulter said is constructed as a good thing for the Jews. She offended the Jews deeply with her stupid comments, period. There are things that you do not say in a political debate and what Anne Coulter said is one of them.
Perhaps, Ann will get a prime time speaking role at the GOP Convention in 2008 and announce that she believes the nation would be a better place if there were only Christians.
It is shocking that it is shocking. Perhaps it is so rare to hear someone speak the truth or profess his faith so blatantly that it shocks people. Ann was spot on!
Thanks to Ann, the Democrats can now expect to get 98% of the Jewish instead of 90%.
Where in the world do you get your inference from? You are asking questions with no answer.
When one sins, the moment one makes the choice to sin, they are not ‘Christian’ meaning a follower of Christ.
I believe Paul after his revelation was a Christian but aware of the constant temptation to be unChristian. He had to train his every thought, every feeling on communing with Jesus. One lapse and he would fall to sin. He was battling sin with every breath. He knew the temptation was outside and inside but he chose not to succumb to it, at least that is my take.
The subject that started this discussion is from Ann Coulter’s implication that the world would be better off if everyone was Christian. It’s an impossibility because even fervent Christians have difficulty following Christ in all they do. So her thought is impractical and unrealistic. At what moment do all souls flash to true Christianity?
What is practical is to practice Christian values and to vote American values. That is the winning combination.
It would have been far more realistic if Coulter had modified her assertion that the world would be better off if people would earnestly strive to learn about Christ and practice Christian values.
Just like the Catholics never claimed her.......the Jews wish to deny her......so be it. Nobody wants her. Tis a fitting end for her.

Very specifically: Romans 11 where he discusses who is grafted into whom. Paul warns against the pride of a Gentile follower of Yah'shua. A Jew who comes to know the Jewish Messiah for his salvation The L-rd's name ( Shem ) is not je-zeus; it is Yah'shua ( YHvH is my salvation ) Which is why you must call on His Name for salvation.Ann is clearly not familiar to Rav Shaul letter to the Messianic believers in Rome.
shalom b'shem Yah'shua
does not become a Christian,
He becomes a "called out one", a member of the Ekklesia.
he become a Messianic Jew.
The Jewish people are comfortable with their beliefs, and do not look to convert anyone (except in a mixed marriage for the children) They are thought of as the chosen people- how could they ever do better than that?
My mother has survived breast cancer—twice. I will pray for you!!
Ann isn’t stating Christian doctrine very well. Jews are not saved unless they believe in Jesus, like everyone else isn’t unless they believe in Jesus. The Law was never given to justify anyone. It was given to show us our sinfulness.
I don't quite understand your position. I presume that you, as a Jew, affirm the truth of your scripture and tradition. If so, do you think others should convert to Judaism? Or that the world would be better off if we were all Jews?
I understand that Jews historically have not proselytized. I presume this is rooted in the long history of the Jews as a dispossessed and oppressed people who could not afford to offend the peoples among who they lived. But why the attitude persists today, at least in the United States, is beyond me.
Standing up for Christianity is not 'ranting.'
You should know better.
But I do love that lady’s style. I just think she needs a little instruction in how to contend for the faith properly. Even if Falwell said Jews are saved by following their faith, he was wrong.
:-)
There are, of course, some Jews who will always be offended with anything Christian and there's nothing anybody can do about that. Just let 'em stew. There are worse things to be angry about anyway (than Christian symbols and presence).
On the other hand, making a blanket statement that "Jews were offended" is to deny any Jew the sense to make a quick reference to www.bible.com and see what this "perfected" business is about.
Well, not so bad, 11 references, 2 of them in Ezekial. I'd have to say a Jew who knows nothing of the pre-Christian Jewish texts doesn't have a dog in this fight, eh?!
Male Bovine Fecal Effluvia.
She speaks the truth. Sorry if that's got your panties in a bunch.
In fact, she's not a minister at all.
Seems very reasonable to me. All the best to you and yours.
