October 10, 2007 -- A Manhattan woman is suing a West Village restaurant for allegedly having her tossed out of the ladies' room for looking too manly.

In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Khadijah Farmer says she's seeking an undisclosed amount for "embarrassment, humiliation and emotional distress" when she was bounced out of the Caliente Cab Company ladies' room this past June.

Same thing happened to a neighborhood friend of mine growing up. Her family had taken a cruise and she was questioned about entering the ladies room. While the rest of the neighborhood girls wanted to show off what we learned at dance class, she wanted to play boot camp! lol

She got over the embarassment, didn't change her looks and, from what I understand, now lives as normal, productive and well adjusted a life as a lesbian can.

This has the strong scent of a SETUP! How often does a healthy adult (Michael Corleone excepted) get up DURING a meal (appetizers just finished) and visit a restroom? Maybe once in a while but it happens a lot more when you are dining with some of your provocateur chums with whom you have just been parading for gay, lesbian, bi, trans...yada yada....pride.

Farmer said she was flabbergasted by the experience. She said she's been mistaken for a man many times before, but when she tells people she's a woman, they usually offer a quick apology.

"She" has been mistaken for a man before "many times." I can say unequivocally that I have NEVER been mistaken for a man and if I was, I would closely examine how I present myself in public and make sure it never happened again. She just wants money and some notoriety.

Your photograph has pushed me to reflect on how far behind I have been left by the modern celebration of diversity.

If I saw these things somewhere, I would regard them with about the same generousity of spirit as I regard a rattlesnake who appears in my path.

Of course, I wouldn't shoot them, throw rocks at them, or poke them with a stick (unless they looked at me), but truly I would not consider them as belonging to any category for which I have the least concern. I am, for example, sure that they could not be God's children, because, as is often said, "He don't make no junk."

Actually, I have overstated...If they were on the ground and appeared to be dying, I ~might~ poke them with a stick.
