Uh...three .40 caliber shots to the head by his own hand? The BS meter is pegging out here in Idaho.

“Wow, that had to require some effort!”

I’ll say!

Or maybe the guy is a sadistic, lousy shot.

I disagree that he died from the three self inflicted shots to the head.

I firmly believe it was the shot to the bicep (was reported) by another gun that killed him.

Lousy shot, but third time was a charm.

No way with a .40 unless the first two grazed or were minor wounds.

Sort of reminds me about the one liner my late grandfather used to use when a football player got tackled in a particularly nasty way: “He’s not hurt. Fortunately, he landed on his head.”

First two were warning shots.

My guess is that he jerked away on two of the shots and the bullets just grazed him but then the third hit the mark. Just a thought.

Apparently they are being serious, two under the chin and then one to the right side of the head.

Weard.

First two were grazing shots — guy didn’t want to do it and took some time to get up the nerve.

Local reports say he had spent some time that day talking with the police chief and prosecutors via phone to find out what would happen to him when/if captured. Seems consistent with a “snap” rage case and not premeditation.

Didn’t Medgar Evers shoot himself seven times and it was ruled a suicide?

"The three gunshot wounds to the head included two nonfatal rounds with entry points below the chin, and one fatal shot that entered Peterson through the right side of the head," Van Hollen said.

"Each of the three head shots were fired while the gun was in contact with his skin, or extremely close to the skin," he said. "These three head wounds are consistent with self-inflicted wounds, and not consistent with long-range rifle fire."

If they were self inflicted, at least he suffered......if not it was an execution and he suffered. Gun fingerprints should be interesting.
