Every Polish soldier to see Katyn by December 15
Created: Tuesday, October 9. 2007
By December 15, commanders of military units throughout the country make sure regular and compulsory military service soldiers see the Katyń movie by director Andrzej Wajda, Minister of National Defence Aleksander Szczygło has announced.
The Minister watched the movie with the soldiers from the 1 Masuria Artillery Brigade in a hall of the local community centre.
Mr. Szczygło assured during a press conference that, Shall the need arise to support this enterprise [the screening of the movie] logistically, the Ministry of National Defence will give logistical and financial support. I would like the soldiers to see the movie on duty and in their uniforms. They have to see what their colleagues, who served in the Polish Army of the independent Republic of Poland, died for that they died for wearing a Polish uniform, the minister explained.
God Bless Poland. We can be proud to have you as out friend and ally.
...our friend and ally.
Jeszcze Polski!
Good. I wish we could make all the Communis... er, Democrats in this country watch it.
Military / Political history ping.
Lizol,
The first you hear of an English-subtitle DVD of “Katyn” being released
(and playable on USA-region DVD player)...you should make a posting here.
Even if the accepted “gospel” amongst the European film community
is that Americans won’t watch sub-titled films.
Maybe I’m the exception, but I’ve never had a problem with a sub-titled
film...as long as the usually white-type subtitles don’t disappear into
a light background of the film!
For now for the forum, here’s a link to the imdb.com listing:

“The first you hear of an English-subtitle DVD of Katyn being released (and playable on USA-region DVD player)...you should make a posting here.” ........... I’ll take any DVD mode, my player takes them all.
F putie.
I would be most interested in seeing this film.
At the very least, this film could be screened in the few Polish film festivals across the US and Canada, and in Universities.
Films are only considered “art” and “award-worthy” by the liberal movie industries and artsy elitists if it promotes leftist views. The various film festivals are testimony to this.
Bring it to Western NY we have a large Polish population especially in Buffalo. The film would be a smash hit!
