RG and MR were quite respectful of each other, and interesting, imo. I don’t think the Dims have too much to work with there.

There is a big difference between open borders and free trade. Fred is tough on illegal immigration.

“McCain: The American people no longer have trust that we (government) can fix anything.”

Seems to have been the prevailing opinion for much of my life. Maybe we should stop expecting the government to fix things.

Actually, the ones who sound most genuine, less scripted, and less pandering, are FRed, Huckabee, and McCain (who’s a total RINO, but is talking well).

I think Allard would make a good VP candidate.

Hunter is doing an excellent job contrasting himself with Fred making Fred’s globalism apparent.

If Hunter doesn’t win, whoever does needs to put him in the admin. He is a phenomenal asset.

He covered a couple of things in what could have been a simpler answer...he is very glib and knows a lot of stuff...

I think the world of Hunter. He’s a terrific conservative candidate. But, so far little traction. I really don’t understand it at all.

Wrong! I’m a Michigander and what Mitt said is true. Michigan is in the tank right now and with Mitt being a former Michigander, it IS personal with him.

As always, the fig leaf of “any restriction is Smoot Hawley redux”.

People will simply vote themselves raised folks.

I’m not sure what they’re saying- if a Dubai company should be able to own 20% of NASDAQ...they say it’s fine...if security is met.

Mitt is sounding good, actually..

It kills me to type this but McCain actually sounded good in his answer, bringing up pre WWII tarrifs.

“Protectionism won’t work today, and Hunter ignores that fact.”

It works well for China and India.

I would hope so. I am not opposed to free tade as long as it is fair trade.

You’re right it was uncalled for.

Just got overwhelmed by all of the Thompson prop-up that’s been going on before his first debate

Ok, Fred looks like 65. So? Romney looks like a ski instructor, and I have nothing against ski instructors in the right places, but I’ll never vote for one for POTUS.
(Full disclosure? Never going to vote for Romney anyway. Don’t know where he stands, beyond the moment.)

Let’s get real, Fred could walk in looking like John Travolta and talking like a Baptist preacher and the haters would say he looked bad and sounded shaky.
