It was a bit scary for a while I heard this electrical crackling sound in the kitchen. What had happened was I had flooded the bathroom earlier and water had come through the floorboards and then several hours later it had collected in the fluorescent tube fitting and was arching one of the contacts.
We rang a neighbour who came over and suggested pulling the MCB for the lighting circuit downstairs, which we did and the crackling stopped. My friend Phil then arrived who I had also called at the same time. He took the fluorescent fitting apart and drained the water and then fitted a temporary light fitting with a normal bulb until the other one has dried and then he will refit the fluorescent fitment.

Too bad about your mishap. You are fortunate it did not start a fire. I am sure Phil will do a proper repair that will not be a fire hazard.
Thank you for posting.

Snugs, there will never, ever be another President as sweet and with so much love for his fellow man, than President Bush. I saw Hillary ‘trying’ to hold a baby the other day and there was no sign of affection or anything.
I get sad when I think President Bush will be leaving us~
