Prayers for your grand-daughter, Rachel, and for you and your family. I pray that the infection has been stayed, and her recovery is swift and complete.
It was mentioned that your grand child is being given two antibiotics via IV. Let me encourage you to have her parents follow the antibiotic regimen with a good lengthy treatment of probiotics. Probiotics should ALWAYS be taken following each round of antibiotics. Probiotics restore the healthy flora to the intestinal tract that were destroyed by the antibiotics.
A ruptured appendix is so dangerous and can hurt so much. Personal experience. I thought I had the flu like my kids, but they had gotten better and I didn’t. I took them to baton lessons and took myself to the doctor.
He touch my stonach and said, “You’re going to the hospital.” I said, “I can’t, I have to pick up my kids.” He replied that someone else would have to pick up my kids and proceeded to call my husband to come get the daughter with me.
I was in the hospital for almost a week and had a stent? tube for other drainage after my surgery. Such pain from gas from the doctor poking around everything, cleaning out all the poison.
Prayers for your grand-daughter. Obviously, God wanted me here and I pray that God wants your grand-daughter here too.
I’m going to take a snooze, I was up pretty much all night last night, and worked this afternoon.
Your prayers mean so much—I told my daughter, she’s spending the night with Rachel, and she was so touched, she got teary eyed. I told her NO prayer warriors are like FReepers, and she thanks you all so very much.
Rachel is half-dozing, getting another IV antibiotic now.

As soon as she’s allowed to eat, she’ll get live yogurt, to start.

Wow! That’s the first time I ever heard of probiotics. Any brand names?

Wow, I was just reading today that most cases of appendicitis occur to kids between 8 and 14. Hopefully they can rebuild it or create an artificial one. It is important to good gut health. It keeps a reserve resevoir of good bacteria to replenish the gut if something depletes the bacteria in there.
Praying for a complete recovery for your granddaughter.
