Muslim medical students in Britain are refusing to learn about illnesses related to alcohol and sexually-transmitted diseases. Why?? Well, clearly, because it goes against their religious beliefs.

Some of them are even refusing to examine patients of the opposite sex. They claim that this is forbidden by the Quran.
Can you believe this nonsense? What the hell kind of doctors do we get when Muslims go to medical school? .
The General Medical Council regulates doctors and maintains the medical register. They have, luckily, made it clear that doctors cannot opt out of any part of their training despite religious objections. Yeah ... let's see how long they stick to that mandate. Pete Rubin is the chairman of the General Medical Council's education committee. He says that, "prejudicing treatment on the grounds of patients' gender or their responsibility for their condition would run counter to the most basic principles of ethical medical practice." .
Well .. some Muslims run counter to the most basic principles of human decency ... why should we be surprised. .
Here's a question. We have a Muslim teenaged girl who has been stoned because her family thought that she was having an inappropriate relationship with a young boy. Would a Muslim doctor treat her? .

Coming to the US.
While this sounds outrageous, one thing immediately springs to mind. For the past 10 years or so, the left has been quietly pushing to require all medical students in the West to train in, and thereby participate in, abortion in order to graduate. In other words, if you believe that abortion is murder, then you would have to become a murderer before you could become a doctor.
It is the same issue. Can medical schools require you to violate your religious/ethical code to become a doctor?
Actually, I disagree with this.
This is about personal choice. What if this article proclaimed, “Christian doctors are refusing to learn procedures like abortion!” What would you say then? Or how about, “Christian doctors are refusing to learn hormone therapy for transsexuals. Some extremists in the plastic surgery specialty are also refusing to learn sex change procedures!”
See? It’s about choice. If a doctor has no experience with treating female patients, you wouldn’t go to him. If your mechanic didn’t know a thing about Toyotas - and you owned a Toyota - you would simply find a new mechanic.
Doctors have specialties. It’s entirely possible to get your medical degree without learning the material from another specialty. Hell - if they don’t want to learn about STDs, I can’t blame them. Go find a doctor that knows something.
Each medical school could decide upon the curriculum it deems acceptable to pass. If they say STDs isn’t a required course, then who are we to show outrage. If we aren’t careful, then some liberal academic will decide that Abortion 101 is a required course and it culminates with a “practical exercise.”
***If they refuse to complete the course of study then they don’t get their diploma***
The state of New York used the same logic to force all medical students to learn “pregnancy termination procedures”.
There should be some opt outs for ethical/religious reasons.
All gonorhea-ridden drunks better select their physicians wisely.

This is idiotic. Doctors in order to function as doctors NEED a basic level of competency, we’re talking MEDICAL students here, not specialists. If the idiot Muslim doesn’t learn about the symptoms and pathology of say Syphilis because it’s “unIslamic”, how the hell is he going to try and diagnose that rash the patient now has, or his dementia or aortic aneurysm ( symptoms that can be part of late syphilis)?
What if his patient is a closet drinker, how will he make a diagnosis if he’s blind to the pathophysiology of alcohol abuse? How can one be a doctor and ignore HALF THE HUMAN race because of his medieval prejudice?
I wonder how many doctors practice Christian Science?
You ,my friend have hit upon a brilliant plot for a movie.Crappy Olde England ,to P.C. to fail students who only want to take half their courses,becomes the home base for Jihadist Doctors to plant bombs in pacemakers.Now that is a horror story.Never be made though,the clan,the minutemen,militias,southerners and the US Army are the only REAL villains as far as Hollywood is concerned.Couldn’t be made either because no outside financiers would risk being dismissed forever by the Hollywood Mafia either( So called “outsiders” ,like Mark Cuban-”Redacdted”,can of course be made ,because they spew forth vile propaganda for the axis of evil,Muslims,Murtha and North Korea.But I shouldn’t mention Mark Cuban,trying to get me NOT to say something bad about him is like trying to pick up the clean end of a turd).
Although I'm not a physician it seems very possible that there are situations...most likely only a few...where "terminating a pregnancy" might be essential to actually saving a woman's life.If,by chance,I'm correct then one could argue that it should be taught.However,I understand and agree with your apparent opposition to abortion.You and I know that in this country at **least** 99% of the abortions performed are done for "birth control" rather than "saving a woman's life" reasons.
Perhaps the answer to the problem is for a medical student to declare during training "I'm going to be a cardiologist so there's no reason for me to learn abortion" or "I'd never perform an abortion in my practice so I need not learn the procedure".

Because they are fatalists and don’t the Christian concept of redemption.
Fatalists as in they just believe all that happens is Allah’s will,
and no reason to get upset over people suffering, etc.
And Dubya keeps playing theologian and telling us that everybody basically
prays to the same “G-d”.
Well, here in the United States, where we still have a choice of doctors, you could go to a different doctor and not worry about getting your alcoholism and syphilis properly diagnosed. Hah. ;-)
Just pray that Hillary doesn’t get elected and doctor choice becomes a thing of the past.
