President George Bush has repeated his belief all religions, "whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God" an assertion that caused outrage among evangelical leaders when he said it in November 2003.

I believe you mean “predestination,” although perhaps the other term is one I’m not familiar with.
I don’t consider it Biblical. Although I agree it is a difficult conundrum, and that free will is difficult to square with God’s foreknowledge.
I’ve read Calvin and others, and for me it comes down to the personal opinion that if God punishes people for eternity simply for playing out a role he predestined them to play, then He is the greatest villain of all. I choose not to believe in an evil God.
Thank you for your thoughtful reply.
I believe this is the core of "universalism," akin to what The Squid Queen Jefferts Schori of ECUSA/ TEC espouses. It denies the exclusivity of Jesus Christ, and so leaves the door open to the Theology of Whatever.
Bush is nothing if not a child of the '60's.
Unfortunately.
They prefer their own aspects or avatars.
They’re perfectly willing to incorporate Christ or Jehovah as another Hindu deity.
They object, however, to the “only through me” part, as do the Jews, BTW.
As I stated Adam could have chosen but not (”what if”); the Point: He didn’t!
Also you kind of jump the issue when you state Jesus Cheated.
He was tempted just as Adam, but being perfect (and God) NEVER sinned.
Adam, however though he was made perfect, but not as God (remember Jesus came from the seed of Adam, and after he, of course), He chose to sin becuase of his desire, and lack of faith in God.
You and I would have done the same thing in that situation.
It wasn’t set up, but let say adam had “resisted the forbidden fruit”, you think he would have resisted that same temptation FOREVER??
Uneven that God was God, and would not sin..That’s love that He cared enough to come down to save us, not some kind of “unfairness”.
So when God instructed Adam not to eat of the fruit, it was all the time part of his Plan that Adam would disobey? And Adam had no choice in the matter?
God sounds awfully sneaky.
Same thing. It is very Biblical as it is contained in the book of John and in Ephesians. If you review Jesus' "bread of life" sermon (John chapter 6 starting at verse 22) you find both free will and predestination within a couple verses of each other.
You’re simply humanizing God too much. He is so far above us that we have no hope of correctly rationalizing his actions and motives.
Also try Halley's Bible Handbook.
The used three/four dollar versions on Amazon are good. The subject hasn't changed in 2000 years, so the'62 edition is quite valid and useful.
The Old Testament is great Scripture. That Crimson thread of redemption flows through all of the major and minor Prophets.
The interpretations, theology and practices of religions however, vary greatly.
"The signpost is not the destination."
Bush’s god endorses amnesty, the North American Union (NAU), and the New New World Order.
for SURE it is different than my Bible... my God says " Thou shalt have NO OTHER GODS before me"!!!!!!
While it isn’t accepted by all Christians, acceptance of the Nicene Creed, including the Divinity of Christ, is a good test for what defines Christianity.
So Adam was incapable of not sinning, and Jesus was incapable of sinning?
In that case, what was the point of tempting them?
Christ’s withstanding temptation, and for that matter Adam’s giving in to it, is only meaningful if each of them had the potential to make the other choice.
No, they may believe in some form of “supernatural” and Conscience sure does lead one to believe in this..NOt all religions or “gods” lead to the One God manifest in The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
According to WorldNetDaily’s headline story on October 7, President Bush has once again displayed his lack of thoughtfulness with the statement that people of all religions pray to the same God.
This president often seems intent on proving right the vicious critics who ridicule him as someone who simply lacks the intelligence the presidency requires. Of course their criticism, aside from smacking of the arrogant elitism all too characteristic of left wingers, misses the mark. The president’s remark isn’t evidence of stupidity, or even, as some Christian critics would have it, of simply theological ignorance. Rather, it bespeaks a lack of thoughtfulness, the kind of common-sense pondering that, from his youth, characterized Abraham Lincoln (also a man criticized in his day for his lack of intelligence, by the way). excerpt
